Hi,

I will buy a speed 6 next week.
I need your help to setup my mod list

Engine mount:
I dont plan to abuse of the car( no track, drag ), I just dont want to break anything when i use the power of the car. I want to minimise vibration too.
This product seems nice http://www.***************/SURE_Torq_...sure0505-1.htm

For the diff mount, do you know if the turbinetech mount create more vibration than the sure one.

Do I need to replace other mounts?

Engine:
Cobb SRI + Forge BPV v2 et un Cobb AP.

Suspension:
I would like to lower the car but not to much because I live in canada and there is a LOT of snow . What coil springs do you recommend?

Monitoring: The Edge Insight CTS Scan Tool and Dashhawk look good but is it precise enough for boost and others?
Thanks

Hey man, I never had or don't plan on tracking or dragging my MS6 either so I kind of followed this article from **********, https://www.***************/Articles.asp?ID=127
Check it out because it's pretty reasonable for when you first get the car and also because the beginning mods let you open up the car to let you feel what an MS6 is all about. About the mounts, you know, I have 107,000 miles on my MS6 and I've lived in california for the last 5 years, and with all of the street drags for fun and mountain chasing, none of my mounts have ever gone bad. I can foresee the diff mount going out as you add more power but, no problems yet and i have an sri + catback

Here's my $.02...

That SURE Torq R6 mount will increase vibration. Don't know if you will be unbearable or not. I'm still on the stock one.

Here are what I would replace in "Damn it, I should have listened to what people were telling me online" order:

Rear Diff mounts (I have Turbine Tech and Sure Drednaught) **Front and Rear, at the same time** - I broke both, at different times, the second time destroying both axles. This means I had to drop the diff twice. PITA! No additional vibration noted.
Airbox Mod/K&N Filter Remove intake silencer, install filter. It probably needs one anyway, and without a tune and other parts it won't be a choke point.
PCV Catch Can If you take off your intake, it will be full of oil and all other kinds of crap. This is step 1 of keeping it out of there.
VTCS delete Since you've already got your intake off, take out the shutters in the intake and port the #1 intake runner (leave the last section of rod by the actuator so you won't have a MIL from this)
Throttle Body coolant bypass Why have 170* coolant warming your intake charge right before the manifold?
Turbo Inlet Pipe Don't have a particular brand that's important for this one, but the silicone ones will stretch to fit on a bigger turbo
Cobb AP Needed on all mods from this point forward for tuning/monitoring
EGR delete Step 2 of keeping crap out of your intake. AP make the codes go away.
SRI Again, not strapped to a brand, but because you're messing with the MAF location tuning needs to be monitored.

Other cheap mods include solid shift bushings, Balance Shaft Delete (Increases vibration in exchange for less rotating mass, but not unbearably in my case).

You'll probably want to have enough set aside for an OEM passenger side engine mount, they tend to go bad on the 2.3 motors (if you experience any extra vibration with the stock motor mounts, this is where it is)

OEM BPV is quite effective so long as it's in good shape (i.e. not leaking, and you'll be able to tell if it is), I'm on lifted suspension so I'm no help there. Currently using AP for monitoring.

How many miles on the one you're looking at?

I installed my SST, bushings, and SU engine mount last summer after owning my MS6 for two years. After that first drive, I was kicking myself for not making the mount my first mod. The car feels much, much more solid without that MZR bouncin' around the engine compartment. It feels like the engine and the car are one piece.

The increased vibration that accompanies a stiffer engine mount is negligible, especially without the A/C on. I don't even notice it anymore.
