I've never had to deal with having one replaced before. Just hoping for some tips on what to expect. What to look for, questions to ask, ya know. I'm a pretty picky person. Hoping to draw from some members experiences.
Hmm....my windshield cracked within the first 2 weeks of owning my MSP. I took it back to the dealership, where they deemed it a stress crack and fixed it for free (as they should of). They had the car overnight (day and half total) in order for the windshield to cure properly. So far no problems......
I have had three windshields in my MP3. first one cracked. second on had a defect. and now My third one has a small chip which happend on the way to NOPI last year. I used a cheap ass windshield place that replaced it in my driveway the first time and in the parking lot at work the second time. the insurance provided the place and I have no complaints.
shop around your area for a reputable installer....
around here....all the GOOD shops will come to YOUR home and do the install.......I only had a few thousand miles on my P5 when I hit a buzzard and nearly took out the entire passanger side of the windshield.....
TIPS.....find a glass shop that will obtain and install a windshield made for your car which is manufactured by PPG. its a lot better quality glass than the factory glass...and won't cost you anymore.
I watched the guy change out mine....it took him all of about an hour.....it was slick the way they did the work.....there is no way I wanted to even begin to do it myself.
