Hey guys. I dont know much about stereos, so i need your help. I am doing some lighting in my car, and a kit i have says I need to attach a wire to a positive terminal of a full range speaker. My first thought was having to go into one of the doors, but my dad says I should be able to get to it from the back of the stereo. I know the stock unit just has a big harness, but can anyone help me with this? thanks

look for the wiring guide for the stock headunit harness. it'll give u all the codes for which wire is what. that might help? (cabpatch)

late reply...but maybe it'll help anyway...

You say *full-range*, so the lights must pulse with the input voltage/change in impedance. So if you grab a speaker wire after a xover, it will not see *full-range*, but the range determined by the xover setting. so if you are using any aftermarket passive xover's with the stock HU, grab the wire before the xover (i.e. behind the radio) not at the speaker. If you are using amps w/built in electronic xovers, or outboard electronic xovers, then the lights will still only see the frequencies determined by the xover setting. Of course, assuming this is how they work, otherwise, i'll shut up now ;) (stfu)

Speakers Front
White/Black = left front +
Gray/Black = left front
White/Red = right front +
Gray/Red = right front
Speakers Rear
White/Purple = left rear +
Gray/White = left rear
White = rear right +
Gray = rear right
Power
Orange/Black = 12v constant
Orange/Black with silver dots = 12v illumination
Yellow with silver dots = 12v switched
Black/Green = Chassis ground

Thanks solo2protege. that helped. I was able to do it myself. I just undid the stock harness and spliced into a positive wire (white/red) about an inch behind the harness. Your post was exactly what I was looking for
