Would like to know how many people have painted the lower part of the rear bumper, and also what type of paint did they use? Also was this done by yourself or did you go to a shop? I've seen a lot of people have painted it black and would like to do the same myself. Thanks for the help.

i did mine and used dupli color high temp black black paint. its the same i used for my headlights and emblems also. i sanded down the cut out with sand paper, starting with lower grit number and working my way to a finer one. i cant remember the exact grit, sorry. but i then taped off the area i didnt want painted and used an exacto knife for a clean, precise cut. it helps to shake the hell outta the spray paint and then let it sit in HOT water. that helps the paint atomize for a more uniform coat. did very light coats with about an hour in between coats. i wasnt in a rush and it took me about 1 hour prep time and 10 hours of painting and drying. let me know if you have any other questions...

That looks really nice.

thanks guys. the first thing i did when i bought the car was black out the headlights, emblems and the bumper cut out, gave the car a whole diff look and cost 20 bux total for the materials. the blacked out rear gives it that euro look. a must on all nonblack p5s IMO
