Need Some Help, Mazda 3 or Scion?

So I have a 1999 Mazda Protege, that I have had since my sophomore year in high school (2006), bought it at 60,000 miles. 40,000 miles later and being an incoming freshman in college my protege is dying every other week. Therefore it is time for a change, I was looking into a 2005-2007 Mazda 3 or a 2005-2007 Scion TC. Even though this a Mazda site, try not to be biased lol i need some honest opinions about the Mazda and about the Toyota.

Honestly, you are going to get some bias coming to this site. That being said, I absolutely love my car ('08 MZ3GT) and have loved the MZ3 since they came out back in '04. I love the layout of it, I love the handling, and I love the get-up-and-go. It's not the fastest car on the road, but it is plenty of fun to drive. Your best bet is to drive both of them and find out where your heart lies. I tried to get a Civic before I got the MZ3 because I liked the styling of them (shocking, right?). I ended up eating a bunch of debt because I had to get the MZ3. I don't regret my decision one bit and I actually love making my car payment because that means I can keep my car for another month.

I do have to admit that the Scion is a pretty good bang for the buck and it is a nice looking vehicle as well. The interior is nice and has good factory supported mods available.

The mazda still wins for me though...

i liked both cars. i looked at both too when i was selling my bimmer for a good DD. what sold me on the Mazda was included options, and the roominess of the car(along with me getting a discount off the car for working for AT&T ). im an exception being 6'5" and the scion TC is just small overall. it may be faster, but the gas mileage on the mazda will be much better as well. the TC is however a very sporty car and has alot of options to add to it.


non biased: i would say get the Mz3, maybe even spend the extra money and get a Speed3.

Well, I own the 3 and my friend owns a tC, I must say, the 3 has much better handling and steering feel. Both powerwise is just about the same and I like our interior better than the tC. Seats felt a little more support in the tC but ended up being softer than the foam in the 3. If you can, spend the extra on the speed 3 like someone else said above.

The TCs are nice looking. I think they're made by toyota so u can go wrong there. But as for style i gotta give it to the 3. It has a better overall look. If i was to get a scion i would get that new Xb. Those vans look good to me.

I don't know what you're smoking but I hate xB's, haha. Nt more than that stupid Nissan Cube though. I guess it's an opinion thing.

I would agree with you though, 3 for style, and performance, 3's are 4 Cylinder, so good gas mileage but it's damn quick for a 4 Cylinder. But most of all the look. Damn sexy Hatchbacks.
