need some expert advice on intake

Hi guys, first time posting, just got my new car!! yay. Its black, and its awesome.

However, I can't wait to get some mods going on in this thing!
And oh man this car handles realllly well for its money!

So i have a 5 speed Mz 3 5-door. I just read about the different intakes in the other thread. I'm confused, what are all those short terms mean? Is there a place I can catch up on my vocabs?

Also i'm thinking about getting an intake first. But i've read how the mazda 3 has the resonator thing in the intake. Is that thing easily removed and be able to put back for warrantee stuff?
2nd: Should I get a K&N air filter or just a drop in filter for the stock box (assuming I have one).
3rd: does anyone know if there is a website or posting that has some instructions on taking apart the intake?

SRI - Short ram intake
CAI - Cold air Intake

Resonator isn't very hard to remove, just got to take the wheel off to get to it. Search on here to see how to remove the stock airbox.
