Hey guys,
I am looking for some cheap hi-temp yellow caliper paint...
Does anyone know an on-line source where I can order some??
I am afraid that here in Mississippi there aren't many places that I can find it. :(
Anyways, all help will be appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Do you have an auto parts store around there? You don't have to use a paint specifically for calipers, unless you're really picky. Most of us that have done our calipers just used hi temp engine paint, which you can buy at an auto parts store for about 4 dollars. It should be in the spray paint aisle with the regular stuff. Doesn't get much cheaper than that... Sometimes companies will rename a product for a specific purpose just to be able to charge more for it. I wouldn't be surprised if "caliper" paint was the same formula as the enigine paint, just repackaged and repriced.

Thanks Dragonfly for the quick response...
I have tried all the stores here in town being: autozone, Advanced Auto, Walmart, Napa and even some hardware stores...
The only high temp paint I can find is either black, orange or red. I am painting the calipers on my sister's 1993 Honda Del Sol and she needs yellow to match everything else on the car. I think the main thing around here is that on one in the stores will actually stock anything... I just searched through about 75 results again on caliper paint, and I think I am going to try and get some from JC Whitney... Thanks for your help though, I appreciate it! ;)

I use Tremclad Rust Paint,They have a good colour choice . I used this paint on my 92 and no peeling problems . i now have it on my 2001 .

Does the engine paint stand up to wheel cleaner and brake dust remover sutff??

Absolutely.....wow that'd be scary if that stuff was strong enough to take off paint...would have to be SUPER careful when applying it! :)

I figured it was safe...I just wouldn't want to paint and then have to repaint after every car wash.

Tremclad is the best. I had it on my old car for like 5 years and it never faded. It was a bright yellow and looked new after all that time.

what do you guys use to prep the calipers? brake cleaner?

that will work just fine...OR electrical contact cleaner works well too. basically any good degreaser that will not leave a residue behind.

Yeah, that's what I used. Just gave it a really good shot and let it drip dry before I painted. You might want to put cardboard boxes on your garage/driveway floor so that you don't leave grease spots, but that's common sense. (I hope!)
