Need pad suggestions

depends on what you're doing. If you're just driving around on the street OEM pads are fine or maybe Hawk HPS if you've got the itch to spend money. If you're auto-x'ing EBC Greenstuffs or Hawk HP+ are good. For track days I've heard the HP+ aren't that good, they either cook themselves or wear much too quickly. I used the OEM pads/rotors all last season at the track and only cooked the brakes once. The brakes on MZ3's are excellent.

i just saw pad suggestions and thought that you might be hitting puberty. j/k. i recommend anything that is ceramic. the brand is not a huge difference, it is the composition that matters. i just went to oreilley's and got the wagner ceramic-copper pads. i hear that greenstuff pads are good if you want to get those (if you have a speed shop nearby, you can usually get them without waiting for shipping).

was playing with my hawks on the back roads on teh way home last night... those, the ebc rotors and my brand new good year eagle F1 tires have made a noticable improvement in braking

My boyfriend has Rotora rotors & the Rotora ceramic pads... They don't dust at all!!

I've had really good luck with ceramic pads from NAPA (CERAMIX). Big improvement (which is saying alot because our OEM brakes are good anyway!) over OEM pads. PLUS, no dust whatsoever! I never have to dust my rims! I have heard that some have had squealing problems with ceramic pads but I haven't had any at all in over a year of driving with the ceramic pads on. Keep in mind that I do not autocross my 3 but I do drive it hard around town.

I've heard many good things about the Hawks but I haven't heard on how much brake dust they leave. I used to hate having to dust my rims everyday when I had OEM pads. It's nice to not have to do that anymore!

Used HP+ on my other car (turbo DSM) and they work great if your primary concern is stopping. I get about 20-30K out of a set of pads and rotors on the street on that car. They dust alot, but I have gunmetal wheels... so I don't care. I have never been able to overheat them, and eclipses are known for being hard on pads. They are expensive though... $120 for pads is alot to me. I also am tiring of the squealing during low speed driving... since these are now worn out I'm going to try out a less aggressive pad and see if they can handle the heat. When my MZ3 needs pads.... I'll likely buy OEM if they aren't priced outrageously. At 25K, my stock pads are still over 50%. I don't auto-X, but I drive mountain roads alot.
