My sister desperately wants to become a model, and she has an eating disorder etc already and shes only 13 years old. thats all she talks about.

im trying to find reading online something along the lines of "mdoeling ruined my life" or something along those lines.

any help would be appreciated.

there are groups for people with eating disorder. You should take her there with you. Its anomous like AA. After she hears stories shared by others with the disorder, should get some sense in to her.
When your 13, your body is still growning and having not having the right nutrition could adversly effect her health rest of her life.

well if your a bigger brother you make her. Unfortunally though some people won't learn anything untill they acutually go though bad experiences.

You can't help someone.....until they decide they want to help themselves that is Reality

no matter how bad the situation is

not with kids. you have every right (if not the obligation) to force something to happen to save the kid.

Suck to hear it matt. I agree with autox msp though, the best way to get her help is to get her into meetings and see what it can really do to you.

try showing her pics of the holocost victims..then ask her if that is sexy? because if she dosent eat thats pretty much what she will look like...no offence to anyone about the holocost remark btw...but it does show whats up when you starve or have some problems not eating

Or just before/after pics of Lindsay Lohan...

its just trendy... her friends are doing it im sure. Wants to be popular kinda s***.

Id suggest picking up some stuff about how itll effect her looks and growth in the future.

point her in the right direction for her eating disorder.

then point her in the right direction for a modelling agency, and they will tell her if she has the qualities of a model.

That is all.

where are the parents in this matter?

She's 13 years old for pete's sake! You shouldn't have to deal with this at all, not saying you can't help, but the parents should get a handle on this quick. The health issues that can arise are quite serious, and that's not even considering the mental issues...good luck, man.

I don't think there's a nice way to handle this. Get ready for things to start getting ugly. Other than her seeing the bad effects first hand, everything else might just go in one ear and out the other. Kids are stubborn, so it's time for someone (you, your parents, both) to step up and be the parent. I see so many people these days that want to be their kids best friend first and then a parent next. From what I've read of you, I don't think that your parents are that way.

From my own expirience, I didn't like my parents much during my teen years because they were strict with me, but now, it's all good and I think that we have a good relationship now because of it. Whatever happens, good luck. This is a tough one.
