2004 Mazda 3 hatchback
Hey guys i got a 2004 mazda 3 hatchback and need help. i was planning on getting a cold air intake and an exhaust but wasn't sure if it would be worth it since i don't have a turbo. Wasn't sure if i would get a decent increase in hp or not. Any help is appreciated, Thankss

If you're expecting +20hp then it wont be worth it. Both will increase your hp slightly, both will give you a better sound. IMO, worth it. And by slightly I mean 3-5 hp for each, depending on the car. Search around, there are dyno charts for exhausts and intakes floating around.

You'll get 6-10hp out of an intake, and 4-6 out of an exhaust. Cold air intakes will generally yield an extra pony or two, and you'll obviously gain more hp with a catless or hi flow catted exhaust.

Here's a dyno of a mazda 3 to give you an idea:

This car picked up 13 hp to the wheels and 9 torque from just intake and exhaust which is the green line. It's 2.0 auto as well, so you should pick up a little more if you're manual or have the larger 2.3 engine.
