02ProtegeES

I ordered some eibach prokit springs so I was looking under the car to see how hard it would be to replace the springs myself. the front looks simple, but in the back there is some staff in the way and looks more comlicated than the front. I would really like to do the install myself so i can save $150-$200. yes, that's what I have been quoted!! Everytime I try to do something myself, I seem to break something. I hope this time I do not. Could someone tell me how to remove the rear struts step by step and things to watch out for? thanks

help with struts

I have installed the eibach pro kits and it wasn't too difficult. I am not 100% sure how to do it cuz i had a friend do most of the work. As far as rear struts i know you have to remove the back deck where your speakers are. On the sides down in the corner you will have 3 or 4 bolts you have to undo and that should remove the struts in the back. I hope this helped a little.

here is a pick

here is a pic of my car w/ them but they are actually lower because this was a couple days after instalation and it takes a week or so for them to settle, especialy in the back

Man I know the saying to each his own, but GOD DAMN!, what were you thinking when you put that whale tail on your MP3 and ruined it. If you like it and it though and it makes you happy I guess it's ok, but don't be surprised when people laugh at you at all the intersections. I swear I'm not trying to be a dick, but when I saw that pic I almost vomited! BAD TASTE! If I were there I'd give you a rice ticket.

I'll agree and say to each his own...curious tho...does that wing give you a lot or rearview visibility problems as it looks like it'd be right in the way of the mirror to me.

How much of a drop does the Eibach's give you once they are settled. Can you measure and let me know what the ground to the side of the wheel well height is... just so I have an idea...

Thanks

Man, I'm sorry about saying that, but damn, if I did that to my car, I hope someone would tell me how stupid it looks. But if you like it, go with it. More power to you.

I'd like to know what the Eibacks do for you also.
About the wing, well, I thought the factory one was pushing the envelope of function vs. style. As for the add-on, well.....

my wing

I know it's huge I'm thinking of getting a different one when ever the WW kit comes out and i get it installed. As far as the new ride hieght let me check and I'll get back to you later. Also by adding the eibach's i have felt a difference in the handling a little. Since the suspension was so tuned to begin with it didn't make a huge difference but it does handle better.

I measured my ride hieght with my eibach springs.
front is 24.5 inches and the same in the back. Im not sure what it was stock but if anybody can find out and reply so we can know the difference.
