Need Help Removing Stock Stereo!!!

Actually, I know how to remove my stereo because I've done it before. I have the set of removal tools, and I got the right hand side loose, but I think I messed the left hand side up somehow. When I push in the tools on the left side's holes, they sorta sink in all the way into the unit instead of stopping. Other times I can't seem to grab anything or find the tabs I'm supposed to be grabbing onto.

Does anybody have some nice hi-res pictures of the side of the radio that shows the tabs that the removal tools should be grabbing?

which car do you have?

p5, sedan, mp3/msp, 3, 6?

i needed 4 keys 2 get the thing out and u have 2 tug real hard...it was pretty wedged in there. sorry, but i don't have any pictures. i did the job back in 2002, so i don't fully remember how i got the deck out. i do remember one side came out then i wiggled the other side off w/ 4 keys (2 on each side) i think there was a lot of wiggling and tugging involved. i think the keys went in w/o a problem. good luck

If the tools go in all the way that means you've bent the tabs out so you have to take the whole centre console out in order to bend the tab properly. It took me about 15 minutes to do. The same thing happened to me and thats what the guys at a mazda dealership told me to do.

i did the same thing recently and i thought i was going crazy. I found that I wasn't pushing the tools in far enough even though one side would release a lot earlier.

anybody know how to remove the center console?

I got the face loose, but it won't come loose, I think I need to disconnect something attached to it like the climate control but it's not the wiring, I think the climate system has to be screwed off.

Anybody know how much this'll cost at a dealership to do? I don't wanna damage the interior because of something careless.

take your glove box off and disconnect the little wire ring from the white plastic device in the lower left corner where the glove box used to be.

there is another one on the other side of the dash behind the steering wheel. that is what you are tugging on.
