need help quick, please. msp mbc.

I have joe's mbc on my msp. i also have cai, i/c, 2.5" piping. the valve is almost all the way out and it won't go lower then about 9psi. i hit fuel cut on any cold occasion and sometimes in the day when i shift to third. on a hill with a load say hello to the brick WALLS! I've check the valve for obstruction internally and all the lines and have zip tied them down.

how i have it installed is from the line from the wastegate it goes into the mbc, then from the mbc to the tee. one part of the tee goes uptoward the intake plenum and the other is for the aftermarket bov which has a check vavle on it. so does this sound right. i can raise the boost but can't lower it down to 8 or stock.

thanks for any help.

I can adjust it anywhere from around 8psi (spiking around 11) to all the way when I want to blow the motor. I can't go lower than that so at night with the cai I hit "fuel cut".

Take a pic of the setup. I'll look around my comp and see if I have any that show the T connections and stuff to verify correct installation.

Get rid of it, and go Electric. No offence to the JOEp Boost controller, but if your running that setup bro, you should go with an EBC, much more reliable, and easier to control. :D just my opinion, the mbc is not reliable for the lower boost levels of the MSP.

Yeah, that's what I wanted to do at first. Money became really tight and I've had the mbc in my closed for like 3 months now. So I just decided to put it on and have some fun.

I'm going to test it again tonight but if it acts up I'm going to take it off and just save for the greddy.

EBC's are not all that they are cracked up to be. Convenience factor adds up more than the actual usage/reliability difference between the two. I'm among one of the many people on the board that uses the JoeP MBC without any problems at all.

It's nice to be able to switch instantly but that's about the only real difference and every DSM owner will pretty much agree.

Big difference, the DSMs can handle mad boost, whereas, after I installed my Injen, I was hitting fuel cut at 10 psi on every cool evening. This was with the JoeP. The MSP, with the MAF, and limited boost, due to internals, or lack of proper fuel/timing tuning, can only handle low boost settings.

I find the price of the EBC to FAR outweigh the low costs of the MBC, with the features I can have. Granted, Im not boosting too high right now, but as soon as I can controll my fuel/timing, I have the EBC already set to crank boost with, and on the fly changing of boost levels. :D

Might be something with the wastegate..I'm still having a problem like yours, except instead the boost being too high, I can't boost more than stock no matter how much I turn in the screw on JoeP's mbc. Can you get a good look at the WG? I'd check that, and try taking out the mbc to see if it will drop back to stock boost levels..
