I've had tien s techs and stock shocks for 30k miles. For a street/autoX setup I can't really complain. Its a little too soft in the back for autoX and a little too stiff all around for the street, but thats too be expected with a dual purpose car. If you want a track-only setup you'll have to go with coilovers and adjustable shocks.
NOT TRUE with the P5, the air ride is better than any coilover set up you can get. Im sure there are air set ups in other cars that are horrible, it all depends on the combination and what you use. If you have riddin in air ride set ups that are custom (then the ride sucks) compared to setups that are made for vehicle specific rides. Like blackandbluepro said, DO SOME Research before you spend alot of money for something you regret getting, when you could of spent a few hundred more and get an air ride setup for your P5. Ask around your area and see if there is someone with this setup and take ride.
