need help deciding...

Alright, after months of searching for a new car i have finally decided on the Mazdaspeed Protege. I went to a Mazda dealer to find out more information and learned that the orange would be released at the end of this month as a 2003 and the black would be released sometime around summer as a 2003 1/2 model. My problem is that i want the although i want black (the orange just seems a little to Fast and the Furious for my taste) i dont know if i want to wait 6 months. So... should i wait it out or just settle for the orange? Which one do you like?

ok....first of all....where are you from that they told you the black wouldn't be released till summer....as far as everyone here knows the blacks are coming along with the orange whenever they decide to ship the cars....the 2003.5 cars are supposed to be yellow and gray with a redesigned body kit.....just curious where you're from that they told you this....doesn't sound like your dealership knows what they're talking about.....or maybe all of us on here don't know...hehe

I went to Ferman Mazda of Tampa and according to them the black mica will not be here until may at best. I guess this isnt true?

That damn well better not be true...and I'm pretty sure it isn't. I'm waiting for Black and I've been hearing/been told by Mazda that the black are either coming with the orange (whenever the hell that is) or in January at the latest. The 2003.5 will be slightly redesigned and grey and yellow/blue.

No proof but that's what the Mazda rep told me at the auto show.

You see, i'd wait for blue and skip the toxic orange. But, I haven't seen any indication that there is a blue. Even at sema, they only announced gray/yellow.

If I get the orange, and a blue comes out....I'll kill someone. The color is the only thing that makes trading the mp3 for the msp a hard one.

Lindell Mazda in St. Pete is an Elite dealer and may have a larger allotment than Ferman. At the very least you'll get another salesman's view of the situation. A salesman at my local dealership told me they were getting the black MSPs first, followed by the orange ones. I really think it's not known how they are comming to the dealers at this point in time. Ok thanks. Ill have to drive out to Lindell Mazda sometime next week and find out what they say. So far i'm not to impressed with Ferman.
