Need help changing my brake light!!!!!

I know is a stupid question but i can't figure out how to change it, i removed the carpet from the trunk and all i see is a plug. I expected it to be at least 3 plugs for each bulb, but i guess not. Also when i press on the brake it doesn't light up, but when i turn on the lights it turns on,so i don't know if its the bulb or the wiring. thanks for the help

I am assuming you have a sedan since this is the Mazdaspeed section. There are three nuts that need to be removed (10 or 12mm, cant remember) on the inner part of each light. once you remove those, you can pull the taillight straight out, be careful you dont scratch the paint as you will have to pull fairly hard. If it's just one side, sounds like a burnt out bulb, if not could be a wiring issue.

Greyspeed is correct on how to remove the taillight to replace the bulb. I haven't had to change my buld yet but it is probably a dual fillament bulb so it works fine when you turn your lights on but the brighter brake light fillament is burnt out. Just replace the bulb and you should be good to go.

Ok, thanks. thats all i needed to know. cause i thought it would be like a honda just take out the socket and change it, i didn't know i had to remove the whole taillight

I know, coming from Honda's myself, it's much easier and no panels or light assemblies need to be removed. I don't know why Mazda made it so difficult.
