Need advice re towing setup 2008 GT

I just bought a 2008 CX9 GT and I'm having trouble sorting out details for towing. Can someone clarify what I'd need to add to be able to safely tow more than 2,000 lbs?

I thought all GT's came pre-equipped with the trans cooler, radiator & ecu chip, but local Mazda part guy said mine has trans cooler but can only have smaller hitch.

Can anyone advise on where to find accurate info for an 08 cx9 GT? Just want to be sure I don't void my trans warranty.

Look around your radiator for sliverish modules with heat dissipation fins.
If you have only ONE, you can only tow up to 2000lb. If you see TWO, yours
is prep with tow package. Therefore, up to 3500lb.
In short, a tow prep package came with
- heavy duty radiator (dual fan control modules - what I just mentioned)
- larger transmission cooler
- slightly different ECO program to counter fish-tailing.
