HI Guys , I am new to the group. I've been reading all your posts over the last week and have really learned alot. I just purchased a Audibahn 8" powered sub from crutchfield. My concern is running the wires and where to connect the wires to. Do I have to run the power wire to the Battery? Its say its 100W rms and 200w Max. If so what is the easiest way to get the wire to the battery? Next, I am planning on using the speaker inputs on the sub. What is the easiest way to tap into the left and right speakers channels? I really don't want to take out the radio or door panels if I don't have to. I noticed the wire under the dash, side panels, there is wire that enters the floor (into the bottom carpet). Is there speaker wire in that bundle. I tought I read in another post that all speaker wire is Grey + White -. Any Info would would really help me. Thanks in advance
I have a 2005 3s sedan

yeah you need to tap directly onto the battery and there is a gromet type thing on the passenger side that you can run your wire through, its tight and a pain, but you don't have to drill a hole.... as far as the wire tapping, it is real easy to take the stock hu out, open the glove box, lift the carbon fiber lookin piece from the bottum and once that is removed there are two screws holdin the hu in... just remove those and give it a wiggle... it'll slide right out...

that'll help with install and wiring issues... good luck...

Remember to add a fuse inline with the main power to the battery. Standard is within 18" of the battery connection.

Speakers Front
White/Black = left front +
Gray/Black = left front
White/Red = right front +
Gray/Red = right front
Speakers Rear
White/Purple = left rear +
Gray/White = left rear
White = rear right +
Gray = rear right
Power
Orange/Black = 12v constant
Orange/Black with silver dots = 12v illumination
Yellow with silver dots = 12v switched
Black/Green = Chassis ground

check that link i posted ealrier, it gives a pretty thorough walk through on installing door speakers and a sub woofer, also i and many others on the board have done this so if you have questions ask... this was my first time installing my own stereo, with the car payments i didn't have the $$ to pay some one to do it... its a lil scary seein your baby all torn apart with seats out in the drive way but it was fun, i learned a lot, and only broke a 40$ kick panel b/c i was tired and in a rush... all in all i am very happy and it only cost me 40 for the kick panel 3 for the broken door wire and 18 for the door panel connectors so thats 61$ and a slight headache....

men that link is something, hey but what if you more subs and you get another battery to the back of the car is that possible

it all depends on the amount of amps you have not the amount of subs... once you get to a certian power level on your amps then i would suggest a second battery set up... but unless you goin with some serious stuff there shouldn't be any need, and you can always upgrade your reg battery to an optima that should take care of even a true audio nut.... the freaks are the ones that wan't like 3000 watts through 2 15 inch subs that need an extra battery....

i also have a civic were i have my lil system is nice my civic is hook up for show and my mazda is speed

if you wan't your mazda for speed then don't add an extra battery for extra subs and amps... all that adds up to a lot of weight and weight=slow.....

no yeah i know im not going to i was just curious im a curious man, i just like to learn a lot
