Need advice on amp and wiring...actually..the whole system

Arrite guys, this is what I plan on getting very soon. Im quite stupid when it comes to these things so I need your help

Subs:
2 12" Rockford Fosgate P2s "$ or 8 ohm SVC sub" 200 Watts RMs/400 Watts Peak each

The sub Im planning on getting is a Rockford 3001 which is 300 Watts Total RMS at 2 ohms and 150 Watts at 4 ohms

Is that enough or should i upgrade to the 6001 which basically doubles the output?

Secondly, my speakers are the
infinity components for the front
infinity 6x9s for the back
MTX 4004 4 channel Amp

I got a Rockford 4 gauge wiring kit that says its good for upto "800 watt system"> Should I get better wiring or is this enough?
Thanks

Hmm...well it all depends on what ur looking for. If your a bass head, u might want to get a harder pounding sub. But if u just want a nice low end and some thump, those will do fine in a ported box. 4 guage kit would be fine.....i personally have a 2 guage wire from my battery to my power distributor (why does that not sound like the name lol) and then 4 guage from there connecting to my cap and amps. I would suggest 2 guage just in case u ever upgrade....always good to have.

You should always try to match the RMS power of the sub(s) and amp. If you have two 200 watt RMS subs you should get a 400 watt RMS amp. That doesn't mean a 300 watt amp won't work but you may drive it into clipping trying to get the most out of your subs.

You also need to match the impedence correctly. If you wire two 8 ohm subs in series you will get a 4ohm load. This is good if you plan on bridging a 2ohm stable 2-channel amp. If you have a monoblock amp then you will want two 4ohm subs to make a 2ohm total load across the single channel. Some amps can also handle lower impedences but the standard these days is still 2ohms.

A 4ga wiring kit should be ok as long as you stay under 1000 RMS output.
