NASA MId-Ohio Meet April 9-10, 2011

Since we'll have over 20+ Mazda 247 members on Course @ Mid-Ohio and there will not be a Mid-West Mazdafest, Phen, Lauri and I were mulling on having a huge Ohio (Mid-West, Great Lakes Region) meet @ Mid-Ohio. NASA is game for it and would make it a part of their weekend festivities.

Mazda USA, NASA Great Lakes, Grand-Am and Mzdaspeed Motorsports are behind it as well. I look at it this way, it costs nothing to get in and watch the races, NASA always hosts a cook out at the end of the day Saturday and it will a lot better than meeting at the Quaker State & Lube in Columbus. Plus, you can camp for free!

Great Racing, great cars, giveaways (2011 Mazda Calendars), raffle prizes, etc. Let me know what you think about hosting this event. We will have a dedicated space and we can have all of the Mazda's that are running that weekend paddocked near the reserved "corral" space that NASA is giving us.

NO problem, I know you are still on China time, son! Can you send out a mass e mail to the Ohio folks and see what's up with the MWMC folks, maybe we can do a mini Mohican Fun Run as well.

Dave @ NASA sent me this e mail to me, what do you guys think? Marlon,

If you have a website specific to this event, we can link to it in the event details. We can also generate a press release announcing your groups participation.

I'm open to ideas so let me know what works for you. Are you having ay type of contest? Show cars, etc? Maybe we can have our racers judge for you? Maybe we can raise money or a charity, where your team helps with something, maybe car wash, and our drivers participate.

I like the car show idea, with all of the drivers judging the cars, as I have stated before, Mazdaspeed Motorsports, Grand-Am, Mazda USA and my other connections are involved. Phen, our Super Ohio Mod, can you get this out to our MWMC friends, TMF, and our other friends and family. I am going to set up a conference call with Dave @ NASA to discuss our needs, etc. Chippy, you wanted to host a charity event, here is the opportunity, we can work with you if you want to hold one at this event.

Let me have your ideas and I will present them at the conference call, which will take place after I return from Daytona.
We will provide a paddock spot in the grass with no problem -

Lets brainstorm this and really make it fun
