Nano SRI, ECU, MAF, Trims?

I put the nano SRI on about 100 - 150 miles ago, and I love it (review thread pending). Mad torque steer now, which the butt dyno views as progress.

One thing I'm noticing is that my fuel economy is sometimes really good, sometimes really bad. Also, occasionally, she feels a bit sluggish. Nothing huge, perhaps psychological. When I parked in my driveway last night, however, I noticed that the idle was a bit "choppy" in spots. The RPM always hung in there at 750 like it always has, but there was a cough that I only heard before in my volvo when the MAF was failing (that idle dropped from 800 to 450 - 500, and bounced around, bad). This is nowhere near as pronounced, but I'm wondering if my ECU/MAF are still learning the trims? Is this part of the process? When I installed, I DID disconnect the battery and pump the brakes, and when I first started up with the SRI, I let it idle for 6 or 7 minutes before I even really sat down in it.

Thanks for any info!

BTW, this morning she passed the butt dyno just fine.

I've had mine for about a month and have noticed that performance continues to improve with time. It's smoother and more powerful now then it was even after two weeks. The ECU will keep making adjustments to long-term trims, especially as weather conditions changes. If you continue to have problems at idle, you gotta check everything from possible air leaks to spark plugs, but I suspect it's a fluke more to do with changing weather conditions.

As far as mileage changes, the major variable there is ... your foot. Marginal increases in time spent on boost will naturally result in very noticeable decreases in gas mileage. It's kind of fun to watch the fuel mileage estimates swinging wildly back and forth on the display depending whether you're on or off boost.

Have to agree there about the foot. My sixth gear mpg went from 31 to 34, but I get on her more to hear the whoosh in first through fourth. Can't wait to get forge for the mario coin grab.

Okay, that kind of confirms my suspicions. We get odd weather here now too, what with it being 40 in am, 65 in pm, and then back down to 40 - 45 at night. I think my ECU and MAF are in a real state of flux.

The idle thing is not constant, but I will keep an eye on it. I'm going to ramp and check hoses, plugs, etc. this weekend.

Any other info is still appreciated though.

Could you post your ltft with Nano please? with my Cobb I've got +10% at WOT and 2-3% idle, and a lot of knock at WOT!!!

had mine on for about 2 months, i didnt disconnect the battery during the install and everything has been business as usual for the ride quality.

with my cobb..thats about normal... my STFT will be around 2-3% and LTFT will be around 1% at idle.

have u tried cleaning your MAF? theres a thread on here about cleaning it. i havent done it yet (goign to next oil change) but its suppose to make a huge difference. ill try and find the thread
