well,
i made 3 runs at the track last night...it was my first time, so my times really suck ass. car weight: 2840 (full tank of gas & my fat ass)
1st run: crazy wheel-hop...miss 2nd. Yay!

r/t .591
60' 3.879
330 9.296
1/8 13.123
mph 64.66
1000 16.349
1/4 19.033
mph 85.01

run 2...umm yeah, i started off and my car almost stallled out...umm...another great driving moment by me! it helps to have the rpm's UP when you go to leave the line.

r/t .662
60' 2.642
330 7.165
1/8 10.858
mph 66.41
1000 14.028
1/0 16.710
mph 84.23

run 3...yeah, it helps to have the rpms UP...but let's not go overboard. this was my last run...i spun all the way through first.

r/t .805
60' 2.441
330 6.838
1/8 10.491
mph 67.06
1000 13.631
1/4 16.275
mph 86.05

ok, so if i can get a good launch and get my r/t's down a bit...i may be in the mid 15's...needless to say, i wasn't happy when i left the track...can anyone give me any pointers????

Get motor mounts, that will reduce wheel hop, and help with the launch. Other then that get up front at a red light and let her go through 1st & 2nd, its good practice.

Yeah..tearing ass at an intersection in public..great practice..Hey is it exactly a 1/4 mile to those train tracks or am I thinking of some other tired saying?

Practice your launches in an empty parking lot somewhere where no one else can see you. Practicing your launches in public...man...MsProtege..go to the street battles and kills section already.

Not tryin to jump on Mazda website and cause problems, but I am intrigued by this particular post...

The B16 makes 142.5whp and yeah about 100wtrq, now your stock DX makes how much stock? I'm guessing that it's 107 and 112? Correct me if I'm wrong please. The Si's sure as hell don't get off the line too fast, but on the highway they aren't too shabby. I'm not calling you a liar, but are you sure this guy was racing you?

Mind you all that I respect tuners that keep it clean and I'm not the "Civic guy" thats here to argue. I'm learning a lot from reading these posts. Trying to make myself a more well-rounded tuner.
It was a 5th gen Civic DX at 4psi...it weighed about 2200 lbs...

Since this is all about times I guess I will post mine. I know it is not the greatest.

60ft---2.487sec
330ft--6.918sec
1/8th--10.557@68.83
1000ft-13.671sec
1/4mi--16.274@87.14
0-60---8.842sec

By the end of this week I will have my headers and a Injen CAI that will replace the HKS Short Ram I have now. Then down the road I plan on putting in billet rods and forged pistons with a 10.4:1 comp. The guy who is doing the piston and rod install is also going to port the head for me while he has it off. Once that is done I will post what times I am running then. That is also when I plan on doing a Dyno run.

Managed to run the 1/8 with my accelerometer.
Ran a 10.88 at 66mph.

The car pulls hard above 3000rpm but anything below that is bad. The joys of living with an auto trans.

Before I get flamed accelerometers are very accurate with 1/8 and 1/4 times....getting an accurate hp number is what sux.

If you are talking to me. No just pirelli street tires. Great grip. No I did not take the interior out I just took the jack and spare tire out and ran on a 1/2 tank of 101 octane. I launched at 5500Rpm at the light. I almost redline all my shifts. I have MP3 reflash, Intake cam from Sunbelt performance with shims. My stock j-spec intake cam is now my exhaust cam. Cold air intake. Motor mounts. High flow cat. I use plugs that go deeper into the chamber.

your tires stuck at a 5500rpm launch?!!??!?!(boom07)

...yeah dude...what was your 60ft?...not calling BS, your mods definately have given you more than stock power, but launching at 5500rpm just gives a huge one wheel burn out that seems to never end...and mine does it with 215/45 17" S-03 Pole Positions...I can't see how that would result in a 15.27...but if it did, that is awesome man...one of the fastest I have seen...

Wow, damn. Nice. Hey, how much stuff did you all need to get to switch yourself over to the '99 coil packs, anyway? =) I remember you mentioning that you did that, too, before.

I use to spin the tires I no longer do with the pirellis. I am at work right now I will post the time slip....... I use to have mad wheel hop until I got the motor mounts.

I don't want to be the mean guy, but I am going to have to say B/S on your time Glowspeedp5. Unless you come up with a time slip. And Installshield 2 is right, launching that high you are going to do nothing but spin. I am also curious to know your 60ft time.
