I was diriving down the highway when my rear passenger tire blew. I didn't ride over anything so i can probably get a discount on one of the next 4 tires i need to buy. Unfortunately, i now have my winter tires on. So much for the handling.

Sorry for the dirty rims. I was down gravel roads all weekend

yikes, scary stuff. the thread title cut off at 120 on the main page...thought for a sec your tire blew out at 120 mph :p

Firestone?...lol damn looks bad. u guys are ok tho so its cool. But man never heard of a tire doing that.

yeah, i didn't lose any control so that was good. It just sounded like we were going over washboard highway, but i turned to the shoulder as soon as i heard it. What sucks is that in canada, the dunlop SP9000's cost 365 bucks a tire so i'll be looking for an alternative. I know that theres tons of threads on this topic so i don't need to ask

actually, there was no damage done to the rim( thank god). $250 a tire though, i shoould check that out. Cause goodyear wants $365!!!!1:eek:

How many miles on that tire. Think it was low on pressure and the friction caused it to do that. Least you are okay and the 120 was km/h, not m/h like i thought when i first saw it.

Not tirerack.. he's in Canada!
So 1010tires.com or tiretrends.com
( they are both in BC I think )

That's pretty scary .. it looks like the shoulder just separated from the tread! Were they excessively worn on the insides? Had you ever flipped the tires inside-out since you've had the car?

The pressure was fine. I check them on a weekly basis. But the tires were definately ready for the scrap yard. I put 50,000kms on them. I rotated them but never turn them inside out. Thats probably why they blew(hand) This is the first time that i've had unidirectional tread. I'm used to rotating my tires diagonally, not back to front. I guess you learn from your mistakes. Thatdoes explain why there's hardly any tread left on the inside edges:p (doh)
