my thermal exhaust broke!!!

thats right one of the exhaust hangers have a crack at the weld point on my thermal exhaust....ive had this clunking sound under the right rear of the car every time i go over a bump....taked to the shop where i bought it. They told me that first they will look at it (to conferm the broken weild point) then they will phone thermal to see what they can do. If thermal cant do anything, the shop has the equipment to fix stanless steel.

SO i could get a new exhuast out of this.....i'll find out tomorrow

Never heard of that on a thermal. If it makes you feel better my bosal did something similar except the entire muffle fell off. I was dragging it by the hanger.

well i got the exhaust when they first caome out with them...i was on there web site and it says that there exhausts are garenteed for life...so i guess i'll be getting a new one in the next few weeks

damn, that sux! but i guess if you get a new one F.O.C. it's not so bad. good luck with it. (cheers)

well peeps i talked to the shop where i got it from and they said that they could take it off and send it back to california (i live in ottawa canada) and pay the shipping fee's and wait for 2 months...or the shop could patch it for free which took like 20 min...so i chose to let them patch it.....runs fine now...no clunk, clunk...and no exhaust leak...so i'm happy

Sounds to me like they're too lazy to even try talking with Thermal. Every time I've dealt with Thermal, the've been nothing but perfect.... I had a thermal exhaust on my CRX, and was having problems with it sealing between two pieces... turned out that one of the flanges was warped... We called Thermal and they shipped out a new piece, no questions asked.... Get Thermal's number from their website, and call them personally.

Dan

In the meantime, wrap a wire hanger around it to hold it up.

Hope that didn't void your lifetime warranty. When I had a Borla on my Focus I was considering changing the tip, and they said that any modifications or repairs done to the system would void the warranty.

You really should always contact the manufacturer when you have a problem with one of their parts. Your patch will probably be a good short term fix but you should email me photos and we will see about getting it warrantied.
