What was the best? :)
THe Toyota Supra built by Derrick Kenney at Sound-In-Motion in Allston Mass.
He had 2 Pheonix Gold Z series amps, 3 JL 10W6(the originals), 2 Pheonix Gold 1/3 octive EQs, and Focal poly kevlar 3 way components all in the kick panels. It was also one of the sickest motorization jobs I have seen yet.

usaci is going to be there;) did you hear that they are trying to organize a unified world finals? iasca, db drags, usaci, meca, all them trying to work out one HUGE finals. that would be sick:)

yeah, i see that ending up being one big fight though lol. each one will want their rules. i'm glad to see that meca is still around, i judged for them in 99 and 00 and steve was talking about how hard it was to keeping it running.

yeah, it's unfortunate the decline in interest in stereo competitons:( iasca was on the decline for a little while. i think mecca has the potential to be around for quite a while. for the finals, i think they are just going to hold it in one city, but keep things seperate. there are too many different rules to try and have them agree on one set ruling.

OOh I like! I'm hoping to put a nice system in my car soon, but dayum that is one helluva setup!

My friends trunk...

Best system I have ever heard...... and probably will ever hear... well at least until someone makes better products

That's just plain sick! Are those Zapco amps i see? I can only imagine the time, money, and effort put into that trunk. Very nice!

A quick teaser shot of my system in the making:

2 Alpine Type R 12", all Alpine amps and door speakers.. being fed by my carputer.

The whole hatch area is going to be fiberglassed and painted. I am going to post all the pics of the process when it is done (hopefully soon).

errr... I think I killed the thread... bump...

I dont think anyone has posted in that thread lately. I am not a big fan of alpine speakers or subs. I will stick with alpine for the HU's. I am sure the install will look nice. I am sure you will get alot more feedback after it is all fiberglassed and painted nice.. good luck..

just not heard any of there stuff that i like. I have never tired there amps but I have heard from the guys here they are nice. but far as the speakers I dont think they sound good at all. I heard some of the flagship stuff they had. the mid was very nice. but the tweet sucked. was not there at all. no other reason really. just dont personally like the sound.

i dont like the way alpine speakers sound either. then again, they were in between the JL's and the bostons ;)

hrm.. I have had Alpine TypeR door speakers in my car for quite a while now and they sound awesome, especially after I added the Extigy. Maybe it was the HU or some other factor that was causing them to sound bad? I love the 4 ch. amp and I have yet to hear the subs and monoblocks in my car...

remember that everyone hears things diffrently, what might sound great to one person may not sound so great to another.

I like the sound of silk dome tweeters...I can't stand metal (aluminum/titanium/etc) dome tweeters. They are too harsh IMO and if a company doesn't offer a silk dome, I won't buy from them, end of story.

Then again, many people swear by metal dome tweeters...its all a matter of personal preference.

I like great sound but with a stock look--- I had mine done in a way to keep the spare tire and since this is my 1st new car-- i wanted to save the life of my hatch and thats why they fire up-- its a daily driver and i drive alot-- take a look-- http://home.comcast.net/~billyjoy/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.html-.html

I agree. everyone has there own taste.. cause I am the swear by metal kinda guy. have you ever heard a high dollar set of speakers home or car that have metal tweets. I love all my metal tweet speakers. in the house we have soem b&w 805's with teh nautilus tweets.. WOW.. I bet they woudl change your mind. I think I could change your mind with the utopia's. they sound so clear. it is not harsh.. but clear and precise. the symbols and the high notes sound like they are there playing for ya.
