Wow that came out really really nice...your budy will be thrilled. Great job!

My mechanic has a similar set up on his 240, he's had issues with the heat generated from the turbo in that location...fire proof and fire sleeve everything in that area.

yea for some reason it produces an extreme amount of heat more then I even expected thats why I had to put that heat shield there so it wont melt the master cylinder, also its burning the hood cuz I think its touch and burning it so I gotta cut a hole so it wont catch the hood on fire lol

my friend doesnt want me to go ahead and paint the car he going to do it later on so if you see a busted looking gold 240sx dont race it (drive2) unless of course you want your feeling hurt lol (bike)

it was running but driving to the alignment shop the rear wheel studs snapped off so I had to replace that, and the rack and pinion was bad to i had to replace that too. so after the alignment the wheel studs snapped off again, so i replaced them so all is good now.

Im gonna take more pics of the motor cuz i changed a few things but it still in break in stage so i cant rip it like i want too but I'll put some vids up for your enjoyment

Quick question why did you choose the ka24 instead of an sr20 swap? Emissions? I love the outcome of the 240!

I still cant get over how big of a turbo the GT35R is hahaha. Everytime I see one.. Im always like... Holy Crap thats a BIG! turbo lol. Seeing these pics makes me wanna get a project going.

Since I live in florida there is no emissions, I did it cuz "there is no replacement for displacement", but after doing it I realize its a lot harder project because with the sr20 you dont have to worry bout oil feed/return and water feed/return and they do make more parts for the sr20 too. but if i can do it all over again i would probably go with a rb25. and I just dont know why people dont like ka24 theres nothing wrong with it and its still a very strong motor

Rb25 would definitely be sexy! I know a lot of people hate Ka because it's a single cam. I would prefer the iron block myself.

Very nice ride. Your in orlando too! This summer before medical school im going to build an rb25 240sx. Goal is a safe 400whp. My uncle is giving me his dying 240. Once I finish ill be glad to give you a run for your money (on the track of course ;))

Only thing im trying to figure out is if I want to buy an already built rb25 or do it myself. My logic is even if the engine was beat to a pulp most of the fitment and customization would already be done. Worst comes to worst I would just buy a new engine and drop it in. If I build the car myself it would probably cost the same or even more than an ebay one.

only a few ka24 are single cams but the all s14 240s are twin cam, and the single cam 240s actually come with forged rods which is pretty cool.

400whp rb25 isnt hard to do at all cuz with just dropping it in a 240 with intake, intercooler and exhaust you already at 300whp at stock boost and everything else stock. and the internals on those rb motors are very strong and can hold 500+ whp. well the person Im doing this build for lives in fort lauderdale so I dont know if he'll come up here to race lol. but I think it'll be a verrry good race but i think that this ka is probably take your Rb lol but your uncle already has an RB in the 240? or you want to drop one in?

RB25 ftw. I got offered a rb25 powered 240. And I'm acctually thinking of selling my car to buy it. He says he'll let it got for 5k. I think I can get that much for my car.

No my uncles just got an old stock 240. Im debating dropping in the motor myself or buying an already built one. There are some insane deals out there. People selling already dropped motors for 6-8K. The way I see is even if the motor is blown, all the work is already done (and most of the money). It would be cheaper to go that route then try and pay for everything myself.

And from what I read keeping dropped motors as close to stock is the best way to go. This car will be my DD so I don't want a heavily modded KA24DET for 400whp when I can have it with a basic setup rb25 setup. Also (from what I have read) the rb25 isn't hard to swap in either.

its not that hard to swap an RB in besides cutting the fire wall a little bit and relocating the motor mounts, the hardest part is the wiring harness connecting all the plugs and stuff is a pain in the ass.
i keep forgetting my camera but Im going to get some pics and videos maybe tomorrow
