My review on Cobb AP.

I was running the stage 2 plus for a couple days before i did the dyno but i really think the dyno was reading off.. Cause with my parts and the ap uninstalled i ran 236whp that seemed low.. SHould i just put the stock bov on??? and switch it back to stage 2+.. or uninstall it unitill i get the map for the ms cai??

That's what I'd do.

use modded stock air box, and modded stock bov, and run stage 2 v101. = haul ass!

BTW my new dyno using stock airbox and stage 2v101 should be posted up soon!

So lemme get this straight - I know the AP taps into the computer and allows you to reconfigure the comp and such, and from my understanding, it doesnt have different maps yet for different mods done to the car, but it basically tweaks everything withing the internals of the engine and computer and you can opt how you want your car to run, correct? They are making a fix for the power loss in 1st and 2nd gear.

My question now is this: how much change does it make when you put a new mod on the car? Do you have to reflash the system or does it continue to run the way it was? Does it seem to detract from the mods, as in, they dont seem to give as much power as they normal would?

Where to begin. I guess first off explain what you mean by 'fix for power loss in 1st and 2nd gear' I think you mean turning off the boost limiting in those gears that comes from the factory. That may or may not happen from Cobb from what I have seen posted as the tire roasting bonanza that would ensue would not be worth it from many perpectives. To each his own however.

Second, as it stands now you need to run each map with mods specified by Cobb. These are generic off the shelf maps that have only been tested with the parts they list. Its killing me coming from the Subaru community watching the Mazda people freak out about this. The same thing happened when the AP came out for the Subies.
Post after post after post of "why is my car running like crap? Im running the Stage 1 map with XX BOV, XX catless DP, and XX boost controller" The maps provided by Cobb are generic off the shelf maps that will only run well with the parts specified by the map, period. These arent ragged edge tunes that will extract eleventybillion HP. Until the Street Tuner software comes out and a list of Pro Tuner shops is out this is what we have to work with. If the Subaru community is any indication of what we can expect then the AP will be an excellent choice for EM. If you cant wait for these things to develop then save your money and move on to something else.
