My Rear Bumpers lip

I'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right place or not, if i'm not, sorry, feel free to move it whereever.

Alright i drive an 03.5 titanium gray MSP. After our really hot summer here in PA, i had noticed something wrong with my car. I was washing it one day, and it seems like the rear lip they have attached to the back bumped is falling off. They used some cheap ass double sided sticky tape the hold that piece on, and after all the hot days in the sun, the tape melted. So my bumper is saggin like some old ladies boobs.

I was wondering since this was "cosmetic" would the manufacturer cover that under warranty, even though it is a defect in there product. What kind of excuse could they make for my rear lip falling off. Just curious as to weather or not anybody else experianced this problem?

Fortunately I haven't experienced this, but many others have. Yes, it is covered under your warranty. Just take it to the dealer, and they will take the lip off, clean off the "goop" your tape has become, and reattach it. Be sure and check your front lip before you take it in. Many people have had problems with it coming loose around the top on the sides of the car. Anyhow, you're covered!

rear takes 30 min.
front 2 hours.

C'mon, now Dr., it depends on the dealership. If it does look like ass, you can always go in and do it yourself. But hell, taking it in is worth a shot. He's got nothing to lose.

well, they did scratch my lip a little when they did it.
plus dealer will use cheap foam type double-sided tape (which will seperate withing months), instead of rubber type heavy duty 3M tape.

but in any case, go try the dealer........who knows, maybe they'll do it right.

i was thinking that......but then decided to do it myself.
it took faster to do myself than drive there and leave my car for a day.

umm guys. i dont know if you remember jawad. but he was telling me that when this happened to his they used some kind of opoxy and completely ruined his bumper when it became body kit time. i would make sure they dont opoxy the s*** out of it

The 3m tape I use is the stuff found at Wal-Mart (it took forever to find it, it was near the paint section with JB Weld and epoxy). It looks like this stuff... but smaller.
