Well with the info that other than the AWR header there isnt a cheaper alternative for a header for ours cars yet, unfortunately the arospeed and SR header are not available yet. =(

So since I am not going to do the header as my next big purchase here is what I want to do:
9lb flywheel $260
intake cam $155
exhaust cam (if available) $199
urethane motor mounts: $140 or less
ground wire kit $38 (HKS circle earth design)
kartboy SS w/bushings $?

I was also thinking of upgrading my bomz intake to a black injen rd cai which I saw for $202 shipped.

I think I will have 400-600 to spend here in a couple days so I will be choosing 3 or 4 of the items listed to actually get.
Any suggestions on which to go with?
(btw the urethane motor mounts are a definate, i am also looking at the 19mm sway bar from AWR and the bilstein inserts from AWR)
 
those parts seem like they'll be as much if not more then the AWR header. personally, I think the header and a slightly larger diameter exhaust piping might benefit more then a lot of those parts that you mentioned (powerwise).

depending on what you plan to do with the car, a 9lb. flywheel might be a little overkill. remember that the revs wil pick up fast but they also will drop just as fast. so if you plan to drag race or do a little highway racing then this might not be the route to take.

the motor mounts sound like they're a good investment but personally i'd get the header/exhaust combo first.

the ground wire kit from HKS if you're listing it as $38 is the universal accessory kit. this isn't the whole kit with the wires, btw. it only includes the gold plated eyelet ends. this doesn't come with the circle distribution plate that you see on their car specific/$100+ universal kit. i know because i've purchased it thinking i could skim a couple bucks this way and make my own with the HKS distribution circle, LOL.
 
if you can install the camshafts yourself, get those two mods...if you arent 100 percent sure you can do it yourself, get the short shifter and save your money, because if you cant do the cams, then you wont be able to do the flywheel either probably
 
I can do anything and everything on my own, sorta. My dad has been a tech for a jaguar test facility for 15 yrs and our garage at home shows it. I have all the tools necessary without a doubt and will have good ol dad supervise when needed.(most of the time)

As for the pwr gains mentioned above I thought the AWR header made 10-14hp at maximum. With the camshaft making 5-8 and the flywheel making 10 or more (this is from dyno images I have seen at various sites) im making a little more for the money. I do see the advantage in the install part of it with how much easier the header would be than the flywheel and cam(s). I still have a few days to make my decisions so we will see.

I dont plan on drag style racing as I am more into the fun of the suspension and autoX. Nothing competitive just fun on my own.

I just wish the arospeed or SR header would actually be available like the web sites say they are.
I also wish I could sue them for false advertising.
 
yes I saw that GB and will more than likely be getting in on it.

I already ordered a ground wire kit for 38 shipped with a little bday money and trying to get back to this guy who had a momo shift knob I wanted. SO I should be able to get the header when the GB is ready in a few weeks and maybe the intake cam also.

Not sure though, I was thinkin about a small shot n20 setup which will run me around a grand completely installed so I might just save toward that and get the kartboy SS.
