picked up the new ride last night from Burdick Mazda in Syracuse NY. she got quite dirty last night but still lokks amazing. if i cna figure out this picture thing i'll post more later once i bring it inside and clean the little girl up again.

the only ad thing i've noticed so far is that the monkeys who were undercoating it got a chunk of undercoating on the drivers seat right in the back middle part. dirty mofo's, i've already got a call into my salesman who was in a meeting when i called to fix this little mishap. bitches:wtf:

haven't quite made it that far yet, i do know that these bridgestones suck big balls though. i had a tough time making it up the driveway last night with a little less than an inch on the ground. i don't want just snows with the stock wheels so i think i'll either get some steels or find some other protege wheels and tires to throw on it. just gotta keep my eye open for the good deal

thanks. i was informed today when going back to have the lovely undercoating removed from my seat that i shouldn't downsize the wheels and go with bigger tires do to the limited slip diff. so that pretty much illiminates going with steels and cheap tires, damn damn damn. i was also told that there's blizzaks that come in the factory tire size which i'm reall really not looking forward to leaving these wheels on for the rest of winter due to the amount of snow/salt around here. i can't stand driving up or down my road alone hearing that crap caking itself and spraying up underneith my car. time to look for new options

Your LSD would only get damaged if you put a small tire on one side and a larger tire on the other side.
As long as both axles are turning at the same rate, the LSD could care less what size of tire you use.

Right. I am running 195/55-15 Michelin Arctic Alpine's on 15x7 Fondmetal 6200 rims (cheapest alloy I could get). They have done superb on the last mile to my house - unmaintained dirt roads with compacted snow and ice made worse by thaws and refreezes of tire tracks.

thats what i thought but wasn't really in the mood to get into a discussion with my saleman at the time. its the cheepest alternative to get steels and either some all seasons or stricktly snows which will cost more. then again keeping my ass out of a snowbank and not messing up the pretty pretty paint. already had the front end slide across the bottom of my driveway and the wheel caught the mountain of snow on the corner of the driveway so i think its time to go out and make those just a wee bit wider tomorrow.

hehe

talk to a tech, not a salesman, about the wheel/tire size. Maybe you can get them to put the car on a lift and test diff wheels, like 16" p5 wheels 15" steelies that they have layin around, etc......

my dealer offered to do that for me.

im in CT and luckily wont have to buy snows this winter cuz I can drive one of my parents' cars in incliment weather....

next year when everyone has the bugs worked out of their winter wheel issues, ill get mine :)

my salesmen is one of the guys mazda had sent to summerset NJ back in the fall to play with the car along with several other people from the dealership. and as long as the wheels are downsized and the series of tire are upsized everything ought to be peachy with it, one wheel isn't going to be spinning faster than the other, i just hope 15" will accomedate the brakes.

i do enough driving to the point if i were to be caught out in something i'd like to have that little bit of security to know i was going to be able to make it home safe and sound. man my 00' Trans Am was bad in the snow but cripes, i don't think these tires are much better than the RWD and tire combo i had on that car when it comes to the fluffy white stuff.

oh well, in a couple days or so i hope i'll just end up getting on tire rack and buyin a steel wheel and tire package

THe MSP here in town has 195/60-15's on here. Winter steelies and studded, and there's still room left over.

THat whole thing about the LSD is bull@#$. Go back and laugh in his face.

i'll save the laughter in case i need a favor some day. but till then he'll see me riding around on nasty ass ugly steels

Grimace is right about the whole LSD thing you are worried about. As long as you have the same size tire and wheel combination on both sizes, LSD will continue to distribute the same amount of power to both wheels.

15" will fit for sure. I was confused for the pass couple of weeks, when i started to look for winter tire packages. There's very little clearance between the rim and the caliper. According to my eye's estimit, i'm guess b/t 3 - 8mm clearance upfront. There's slightly more clearance in the rear. I got a set of Bridgestone Blizzak's MZ-02 /15" Steelies on my car yesterday and ever since, i've been driving my car with confidences. No need to keep checking the forecast for dry road conditions.

As long as the 15's clear the caliper you're in business. No need to give any space to the caliper's as long as they don't touch. They will still work fine because winter's are cold anyway.

i had the same problem as you, i had a hard time just getting up my driveway. The car wouldn't listen to my steering respond and would control itself where ever it felt and according to slope.

Go with a set of snow tires! You'll be much happier regardless of $$ because it could save your Racingharts from being curbed (if you slide into it) or your life!

I'm thinking steelies is the way to go on a budget. But is it dumb to be concerned about something getting lodged inbetween the caliper and the wheel with such little clearance?

i was also told by the salesman that they had found Blizzaks that would fit the stock wheels, yeah sure 'll go with those thanks:confused:

where did you get your blizzaks Limited Edition? i'm having trouble finding anything on Tire rack other than those damn micheline alpine artic's or whatever they are and i'm not paying $112 for a set of snows damnit! i'll buy some no name all season and steel wheels before i pay that much.

on a side note, here's a picture of my baby sitting in the nice warm garage next to the truck all bathed and sheltered from teh elements.......till morning atleast
