u know it... i'm not gonna whine... its gonna be insured anyway, and its gettin an extended warranty... so im not gonna mess wit it all winter... im waiting till later to void the warranty, but i jus want the car to run good all winter...

anyway... here's the update...

My sister is gonna cosign for me cuz she has the best credit ever...like beyond great... also, my sister is gonna put me on her insurance... she is very lenient wit me... my dad gets paranoid... so the credit application gets submited today but when they called to confirm it and s***, they were closed cuz of Monday Night Football... some dumb s***... so damorrow after school, ima make a deal finally and sign the papers, and then my sister is gonna come and sign her part... the car is mine... 100%... hate on it if yall want... its insured/warrantied all till spring time... no matter if the intake was modded, its still covered... im asking 13.5k damorrow jus to start and we'll likely end up at 14k... add taxes and warranty and payoff, thats how much my car is gonna be... they are giving me 3k for my protege right now... so the difference in payoff is 1k... iight... so the car is gonna cost me like 16+k... no big deal, my sister is gonna have really low ****** rates... like extremely, i won't be surprised if its 1%apr... or 4%... its still low... don't forget its 16k for everthing... including the taxes and tags...

good luck, hope it doesn't have a blown head gasket or messed up piston rings or any other number of problems that could have resulted from previous mods but you would have no idea.

you'll learn quickly that warranties don't mean anything in the automotive industry

o no worries on warranty... its only for regular maintinence like suspension work, sub blows, etc etc... and its only for a few months, winter isn't that long...

Ugh, beating the dead horse here, but let me summarize for you one more time.

1. You will NOT get extended warranty coverage if the car has been modified. Yes, you are getting a warranty PAPER now, but it will not be honored LATER when you have problems. If they can prove that your cluster was ever swapped out, then they will not honor the warranty when you take it in for something major. The dealer likes you to think that the warranty will be covered with the mods that are on there, and then as soon as you pop your motor it is out of their hands and into Mazda corporate's hands. Do you really think the dealer will fix your car OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKET??? The local dealer gets payed for warranty work by Mazda... but with something big like a motor or tranny, Mazda WILL NOT pay the dealer for work they do to a modified car. If you blow your motor, a Mazda rep will come and inspect the car before ANY work begins... the dealer will have NOTHING to do with that inspection.

2. 16k for THAT particular Mazdaspeed is still WAY TOO MUCH.

3. There are a lot of other Mazdaspeed's that you could easily get in your area... get one of them instead and save yourself thousands of dollars, and also get a REAL warranty that WILL be honored along with it.

It's a no brainer man, that dealership has you thinking craziness.

the dealership gives me a 3 month warranty anyway... and they will cover it cuz i didn't mod it, it was purchased like that... and they told me "which ima write and make them sign" that the car will be covered cuz all the car is having is more air...thats it... i as a consumer will fight for that no matter wat... and 16k is a legit price for me... i'm not gonna travel and waste a couple hundred bucks in gas or shipping jus to save 1k or something... and most of the cars on autotrader are already sold... i already called like 90% of the dealerships that are atleast 75 miles from my house... and like i said, they will honor it, i will have it in writing and make the dealership sign it... if not, then i won't buy it, then they'll call my house saying they will sign it and it'll be all good... trust me, that salesman is on my nuts, he wants me to buy this car sooooo bad, i'm like, u better give me some benifits and a signature saying the car is covered if i buy this extended warranty...

Thats what I thought. I bought my MSP which has a CAI previously installed on it (unknown to me). My car blew up 5 days after I took delivery of it and Mazda voided my warrenty even though the car had 15k miles on it and was bone stock. I wouldnt take the chance. Mazda wanted 7k for a new engine and labor. Can you afford that?

(hah) (ripped) hahaha...this thread has brought me to sheer laughter, time and time again! (deadhorse
