Here is a taste....

See if you can spot the horrible issue I found last night....

So with a 5/8" billet spacer, My tires clear the strut (actually the GC threaded sleeve) with about 1/8" maybe less.
But oh well.
It handles so good.

Clearance on the fenders seems just right. I may roll the lip a tad just to be safe, but so far no problems.
Off to get an alignment and new exhaust today (2.25" to a magnaflow.)

I need to get 8" springs to go any lower, otherwise the collar would hit the tire.
Also, lower in sonoma county is begging for trouble. The country roads can be rough, so the more effective travel the better, and I don't need a hole in the pan.

The car is on the lift as I write getting the exhaust done. Can't wait!

Sorry about the long delay between posts.

So the problem on the pass. side is the lower rocker under the chrome trim just behind the door is cracked and looks like it may be rotting. I hope it is just a chunk of bondo coming loose.
I have zero experience with body work so this is a bit daunting.

I also have little time now as I have been activated with the USAF for the next six months.

so as for now the car is just being driven. I did drop the front end another 1/2" or so.
I got my z31 hubs a few weeks back at pick n pull. Now just need to get wilwood dynamite calipers and new rotors to go on there with them. Not to mention a caliper mounting bracket!
The only thing really pressing right now is rebuilding my carburetor. The secondary jet holder is loose in the venturi and it's running a little rich wasting my money.

Question about your Coil overs, are they the T3 ones? If so how is the dampning on them. I have been looking at them for my Corolla, but I don't know how they will transition from Drift to Road Racing. T3 usually produces good stuff. Thanks.

My coilovers were built by me. They employ identical parts to the t3 setup. (280zx struts, ground control coil kit, t3 needle bearing top hat.)
I used 200 lb springs and KYB gr2 inserts. The ride and handling are great. Stiff but not too stiff. But could probably be stiffer in the damping dept.

On another note;
I will be starting an SR20DET swap sometime in the next year, if all pans out well.
I just need to help my dad get some of his stuff back together so I can borrow one of his cars while this one is off the road.

I got some neat spares (door handles, ignition and turn signal switches, spare clutch pedal to mod) off a 69 4 dr at pick n pull today. Going back for the rear xmember tomorrow so I can have one to convert to fully adjustable without taking the car off the road too long.

Nope, the front x member was gone.
Thought about getting the front lca's but a friend has 4 extra pair.

I really need to get practicing with the welding. ^_^

Just get one and start playing. It's what I did. If not let me know I may have some LCAs sitting around.

Th3 Gr33k:
I have personally met and bought parts from Gabriel @ T3. Even been in the shop in Placerville. He's got some cool stuff in there.
I highly reccomend T3 stuff.
I plan on getting their lca's an tc rods soon.

GBean:
Yea I am actually building my suspension for my car too, got an 86 :D I am going to be ordering the TRD Racing shocks and going to be using T3 components as well. Weld on "Ground Control" kit their NRCAs, and camber plates.

Let me ask you this GBean, how is it that you have met the guy, but I can't ever seem to get a hold of anyone there when I call em to ask some questions? Lol. Well anyways good luck with the SR swap. I have done a few sr swaps in some 240's but never in a 510, the wiring was pretty straight forward for it though. I don't know the extent of the modifications you have to do to your car but I hope it is minimal :D Good luck.
