Autox is a road course, and it perfectly demonstrate the weight factor awd. 70 seconds is pretty big and if you argue that AWD allows the car to have better traction shouldn't it win in an AUtox course where you need a lot of traction to power through the turns? So you're saying since they didn't race on a world famous race way like Laguna Seca or Lime Rock Raceway, that the result is not legit?

Now I just talk to my friend last night and they raced at a road course in Waterford, MI. The FWD has better braking and turn-in than the AWD impreza, but the power difference was made up in the turn out. That proves my point again. Weight of AWD makes the car longer to brake, and slower cornering speed. If you give the same power to both car, the FWD would win.

Good god calm down. And to me an autocross is more like a "parking lot" course. When you say road course I think of tracks like Laguna and Lime Rock, but not some track divided out by only cones. And if you are trying to convert me over to think that AWD is a disadvantage then you should really just stop, because I'm not going to. Plain and simple; I think the WRX is a badass car and would take an awd car over a fwd anyday.

What can I say, this is a mazda sight, and I love the RX-7. Besides I'm not obsessed with making sure everything I post and display on the internet represents myself to the ut-most accuracy.

this is quite the arguement guys. when it comes down to it the mazda gets power lower in the revs and has a better skid pad rating i believe < correct me if im wrong guys> so as far as around town driving wouldnt the mazda be the better car? also mazda is the only manufacture in japan to win 24hrs of lamans, even if it was the 787 rotory powered rwd/ not a msp. then again mazda has never even ran in a WRC event. at the end of the day both cars are badass, and would KILL my ride : (

Actually, Mazda did run in the WRC from 1987 to 1991 in the 323 GTX. They won the rally of Sweden twice and Rally of New Zealand once.

No I am simply sick of a guy who has some sort of penis envy over the fact that his car will never be as fast as a Mazdaspeed, and has some smart ass comment everytime a MSP owner mentions anything about a race, kill, or otherwise. I have absolutely nothing aganist anyone else on this board.

In off the line I know the WRX should take a MSP. Just look at the numbers.

WRX (stock) - 14.4

MSP (stock) - 15.4

That is a whole second. Note: this is based on GOOD driving techniques. I have seen WRX's running mid 15's

I just went to the weds. night drags about two weeks ago, and raced 2 wrx's. The first I pulled off the line about 3 car lengths and he couldnt catch up at all. The second I pulled about 1 car length and stayed the same until the end were we ended up neck and neck, he beat me by a fender. My car is stock, I dont know what was in his, but he should be beating me pretty bad, according to their supposed times. (14.4?)
