i woke up this morning and went out to my car to leave, and there's eggs on it. i hurry to get the bucket and wash mitt and stuff to wash it off. this is about 9:00 am in california but it wasn't hot outside yet. so i washed it and it seems to have not left any stains or ate through the clear coat. but there are various scrapes and chips from the egg shells breaking onto it. what would be the best way to clean these up? i was hoping i could buff some of it out and just leave the rest. i haven't had good experiences with re-painting and touch up paint. are there professionals that do chips and stuff? they're pretty small but i know they're there. and there's many of them. i can't wait till i find out who did this. i have a feeling they won't be walking too much longer.

try getting out the buffer...sorry about that. i hate stupid kids that do that s***.

i wish i would have gotten egged instead of someone bashing my trunk with a bat

yeah the buffer should do it. If you dont have experience using one though, i suggest bringing it to a proffesional detail shop. If that doesnt work, call dent pro. www.dentpro.com they have a paint service that specializes in chips and small scratches too.

Might want to invest in a porter cable 7424 DA buffer. One of the best polishers out there. Best thing is you can't ruin your finish with it but it does an awesome job. Doesn't generate heat like a typical high speed buffer does.

its not the egg that will ruin the vehicle... it is infact the shell.

I had a black jetta that was egged multiple occasions. Even when the egg dries its not an issue (besides being really difficult to get off). The shell upon impact actually digs through the clearcoat completely.

depending on how hard the eggs were thrown, you probably need a respray of the area. High speed compound buff will lighten the scratch (@ the expense of surrounding clear coat) but might not come 100% off.

My suggestions are to purchase the following:

1) Car cover (with lock)
2) A bat
3) a video camera.

use #1 to cover your car. Use #3 to keep an eye on your vehicle, should something happen - review the tape. Upon reviewing the tape, use #2 to beat the s*** out of who was caught on camera.

problem solved.

i like 2(hah)

CARS GET EGGED DOWN THERE. You are are definately savages over there. lol. It's like a whole new world. Sorry about the car.

yeah, i used mothers scratch remover and some reflections but it didn't really do anything. the thing about it is, there's like 20 little tiny chips. like, almost too tiny to touch up but together, you can see them. i don't want to respray the area because i don't trust that they can match it to my satisfaction. silver is really hard to match. i guess my best bet is to take it to a shop and see if they can do a really good job with some touch up paint. i've seen cars that look like there were never any chips there but how can i tell if the place i take it to can do such a good job? i took my last car to dent pro for a couple dings... i'll give them a call. thanks for your support guys.

over here we call them Ar** ho** cause thats all the are every saturday nite the come out of the pub just up the road from me and have to do something to someones car "cause it `s a laf aint it" well they did it once to the wrong guy he caught them and beat the sh** out of 3 of them who in turn charged him with assault (but he got off with it) am sorry to see yous guys accross the pond have the same problems as us

thanks guys. i'm just trying to find a way to clean up the chips really well. i know it can be done, i'm just unsure if i can do it myself or if there is anyone in my area that can do it.
