Rear Trailing Arms

Should be starting fabrication soon, just need to make the jigs and order the materials. Adjustable rear lateral arms will be the next project once these lil guys are finished.

Might even make more than one set ;)

Ha. I just wish I could get them done before this weekend's track day so I could REALLY test them.

What do you plan to use for the sperical bearing in the camber plates? Have you got something sourced already??

I have found a few aerospace-grade bearings I'm comtemplating. Haven't had time to finish the design though.

Quick Update-
Material for test batch of rear trailing arms ordered this week. Should be fabricated within 2 weeks, then a few weeks of testing. Hopefully production sets will be available by mid/late January.

those camber plates can be used with the illuminas or any struts that fit the protege?

I don't have measurements on the Illuminas, but they will for sure work with Tokico HP/blues and the OEM Protege struts. I don't see compitability with Illunimas as a problem.

yeah, as far as I remember the OEM on the sedans and the illuminas looked same when I changed them. I still have the originals in my shed so I can check them out this weekend.

When I get them manufactured, I will test fit them on a local P5 w/ Illuminas :)

Slowly but surely:

With other work out of the way and trailing arm material enroute I've got the camber plate design 95% complete. Hunting down local metal suppliers is a must though, freight is going to be outrageous with the large orders I'll be placing soon!

Delrin bushings, 4130 steel, powdercoated silver. I hope to have the test sets finished and installed by Dec 17-19th. Then begin fabrication on the produciton sets after the holidays and have them ready to sell mid-January. That's if suppliers and coaters stay on top of things.
