Well started this thread last year, and I've progressed about 0% into the project....... I'm not go into a long explanation as to why it stalled last year......so anyway......I'm in the planning stages still.....lol
Yes I'm shooting for the 250whp or more since I'm choosing the KL for the project.
This is Naturally Aspirated
The Plan
The block I use will depend on the condition on the donor car. Either way I'll be using KL31(ze heads), forged rods and pistons will be a must for my sanity. Upgraded vavle-train will also be a must. KLZE are known to drop valves when going above the stock red-line. I haven't decided on what compression ratio yet, staying with 10:1 of the KLZE or a higher ratio. I plan on staying with pump-gas and being somewhat streetable. highest octane I can around my way is 94.......
I've been seduced by the Idea of Individual throttle bodies for this setup as well, there are few people who've I seen do this successfully, although tuning them will be just another hurdle in this project. This also mean probably having a custom hood made to tuck them under the bonnet. Already have an idea for that little problem.
Cams and exhaust will be tuned accordingly, since I haven't chosen exactly where I want the power, they are not yet determined. Basically in my eyes everything will need to be touched upon. so right now I've just covered a few things here. I'm looking for a good balance between reliability and performance...........Yeah I know, thats why I said balance.
With that being said, what are my goals for this car....... I'm seriously considering building a car for this PA Hill Climb So I may go a little further towards the side of non street-ability.
I've put alot of web-time research into this already. And have a pretty good idea where I'm going. As with every project, money is the deciding factor and is the reason why I haven't started this. Hopefully thing progress a little faster this time around...
