My kenwood player has a mind of it's own..

My Z919 Kenwood player in my MP3 turns up randomly really LOUD to max if I don't catch it, and this happens to me when I'm listening to the radio but when I'm listening to a CD it rarely to almost never tunes up and stays where I put it too....Any Idea why this is happening?

Might be a short in the player. How long has this been happening?

I wouldn't know, I just got the car last week Wednesday. I bought the car without knowing this was happening.

That's what I was thinking, it could be a short, but figured I'd ask and see what people had to say.

Try cleaning the contacts on the back if it is a removable face plate. Just a idea?

i agree it may be the contacts on the back of the faceplate thats why i keep a pencil in my car but if that doesnt solve the problem carefully pull the deck out and see how its wired if it looks sloppy to you then id say make a project out of it and clean it up...the way i see it its only right if you did the wiring yourself
