my Idle (plz help)

ive experienced this off and on for a couple weeks now
http://youtube.com/watch?v=MSAg5d6swHQ

ive searched and read numerous threads about rough idles and misfires.

i took that today. i had just reset the ecu and was driving it around and that started after several miles. at first it was just every now and then, then it became a constant like in the video.

ive ordered new coil packs from rockauto and hopefully this will solve the problem. i welcome any advice on this. have any of you experienced an idle like this?

I've been having the same problem for a while now. I've replaced the plugwires with Magnecor ones, did the sea foam treatment, cleaned my egr valve and it still hasn't gone away completely (though it is better now). I guess i should maybe look into getting some new coil-packs too then. I guess i've been ignoring the problem somewhat but it has been getting on my nerves too!

Sorry i couldn't help

nope, haven't had any bogging issues. I haven't experienced any hesitation when revving it from idle either...it just jumps a bit just like yours does...otherwise i have not had any negative effects from it...it's just freakin anoying

Mine's been doing that for a long time. Even took it to the dealershit. They said it was because of my CAI and catback exhuast. I think they're full of poop. I've also done the seafoam, plugs and wires, and egr cleaning. About to get new coils myself. My idle drops more significantly than yours though.

if you have to zoom in that close just for us to see the drop in idle ever so slightly dont you think maybe your just stressin a bit too much?

trust me

its pretty bad, its the quality of the video. when i was parked on my garage everytime it did it the garage door rattled.

mine kinda does that only it does when i start my car, maybe like 3-5 seconds after i start it my rpm's will drop to 200 and the obviously the whole car will stutter and shake and then it zooms back up to normal. It does this every time i start my car, i wondering if these problems could be linked to cold start emissions/VTCS? I wonder if the guys with VTCS removal have this problem, idk im just thinking out loud here

Are you talking about when it's colder than it would ever be in TX? I've never had idle issues with VTCS removal even when it's "cold" here.

mine is doing the same thing as well, feels like it's going to die. i'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow since i got an extended warranty :)

lemme know whats gonna get fixed =)

ive replaced the passenger side coil pack, and it doesnt seem to do it as often, but itll do it every now and then. especially if ive been idling to long (which is why i hate stop lights) lol

ok, If I push in the clitch when coming to a stoplight or stop sign my car purrs until I come to a complete stop. I've cleaned the MAF so I'm not sure what this indicates.

Purr = good. Cough, sputter, stumble, shake, bog = bad. So are you saying it's OK until you stop then it starts acting up when still & idling?

Is it worse on a rainy day? The it is probably wires. All the time? I would change the EGR. Sometimes cleaning won't always get it.

If it was coupled with poor economy and performance then i would swap the coil packs. They seem to be a problem on high mileage cars.

Plugs might solve your guys issue. My MSP did the idle dip thing and after I changed them with better plugs (and a step colder because of my mods) it runs great with the idle at a good position.

Yes, it purrs right until about 2 seconds after I come to a complete stop.

And thank you all for not picking on my typo. :D

So far I have changed, plugs, NGK wires (including the coil boots),cleaned the MAF, run seafoam through the tank and through the vacuum line at the brake booster.

i recharged my air filter.

i tried cleaning my egr valve, but i couldnt get those damn bolts off. i wasted my whole entire day.

ll change the plugs maybe this weekend. what are you all using?
