My First Dyno - Boost Fail - HD Video

Car was not getting proper boost. 5th Gear pulls. My current mods are CPe Nano Intake, Forge BPV, and Hypertech tuner. The Car was also hot, first pull was 174 AWHP. Something isn't right...my boost goes to 16-17 PSI for about 500 RPM until 4,000....where it drops to 13 PSI and at 5,000 it drops to 12 PSI.

Car has CPe Nano, Forge BPV, Hypertech Tune
TIP, FMIC, Meth injection, TBE + supporting drivetrain mods VERY soon.

Dyno was done at Swift Motorsports in CT...I'm down for a dyno day BTW.

Next time do 4th gears pulls that the other guys said, and do not have then go WOT until ~3,000rpms. 16-17 PSI and 500 rpms can blow your motor. Not sure about your boost, or the hyptech people. If you have a datalog of the dyno run, it would be MUCH easier to see what's going on here. Could be a boost leak, or could be something else. I take it you don't have an AP? I hope you have a log of this. Also, make sure to include the AFR & boost chart... that's better than nothing.
 
if your car has a fmic why is the tmic still there? or do you have the corksport fmic?

edit, nm i see that says coming soon. was confused cause it says has before coming soon.

Will do about the WOT. But I've read the ratios online and found that 5th was closest to 1:1....

1: 3.538:1
2: 2.238:1
3: 1.535:1
4: 1.171:1
5: 1.085:1
6: 0.853:1
Final drive: gear 1-4: 3.941:1, gear 5-6:3.350:1
 
damn man i put down more hp/trq numbers in the ms6 with just a cai? 217hp 265trq must be something wrong also i did 4th gear with hood close

Well he said his car wasn't running right, but it also depends on what kind of dyno he was on. If he was on a Mustang Dyno, and you were on a DynoJet, the numbers are going to be waaay different. Mustang Dynos read low, but are the best for tuning, and DynoJets give the highest are more for fun or getting a baseline and seeing the gains different mods give you. I suggest going to the same place every time for your dynos for consistency. You could easily dyno on a Dynojet, add a fmic, and then dyno on a Mustang Dyno and get lower numbers.
 
It is a load dyno, but not a Mustang (very similar to Mustang) Heatsoak got the best of me, thats why you got a better reading with just an intake.
 
haha if you want high numbers, do what i did... dynopak dyno pulls!!
lol 267 AWHP at the hub!!! buahahaha...

even so, the guys numbers seem way low. his highest pull must have had problems still.

Do you have a 2-speed rear axle?

Yeah, I only put down 229whp/245wtq with all the mods in my sig, except the CPE fmic, which just went in. Someone local said the place I went to had something wrong with their dyno a few months before I went... who knows. That was with the stage 2 OTS map with just the MAF calibrated, and running rich. Once I'm done tuning with the fmic, I'm gonna hop on a DynoJet for fun, lol.
 
Im still learning, but why would the dyno be so low when the projected hp is 274 hp? because of drivetrain power loss?

ya no i dyno'd my car on a mustang dyno at esp in sterling mass same day as carlson dyno'd his for the first time all i know is if i went on a dynojet i wouldof prob put down 5-10% better numbers...but im going to dyno the ms3 soon with just a intake and ots stage 1 map and see what it puts down
 
wish i wouldve been there.. couldnt get down there today.. wouldve told him to run the car in 4th for every pull.. and in between mist the tmic with cold water.. i wouldve liked to see atleast 235 AWHP/ 270 tq.. especially with the hypertech.

I'll be down to go in 2 weeks or so. Also, I seen on the NEPOC threads you recently found out you were having a baby, congrats!
