My ETS TMIC is very hot...

Mine feels cool a lot of times but sometimes it's hot. You have the 3.25 right, I have the 3.5. After a solid 30+ minutes doing 90-110 on the highway I stopped the car and turned it off. The intercooler wasn't cool, but it was touchable.... probably the warmest it could be without burning your hands.

Yeah mine is the 3.25 model of the ets. I have always been able to touch it and be cool when driving home which is only 20 miles. But even the cold pipe was burning hot. I have noticed tho last week it started to smell like something was burning when i popped the hoot and put my head into the engine bay, smelled like smoke, probably not turbo smoke or oil burning smoke, but like when you blow out a candle and you smell that smoky smell. It's very faint but still has smelled like a little bit of smoke. I really was and still am clueless as to why it feels so damn hot when everytime it's always cold or cool to the touch. It was at the point where you could still touch it and not burn yourself, but if you left you hand on it for more than a second you certainly would get burned by it. When it was cold you could litterally lay your hand on it and it would feel cooler than anything else in the car. this thing is freaking me out.

what are you doing tonight? you can borrow the dh if you want for like a week or so if you need it. monitor both AAT, IAT and BAT. i have a screen just for you :)

hey man i dont know how to use the DH but if you want to stop by and show em how to use it i'll see what she tells me. Then if you take it and plug it into your computer it should tell me if anything is wrong eh?

kind of sort of. we'll just plug the s*** into your obdii. keep it plugged in for a week, and watch your temps.
we can log some temps if you want and then plug it into the computer, but it'll be just as beneficial to do it while you're driving without logging and without hooking the s*** up to a comp. idk if tonight would work for me. but if you want, you can stop by my new place and pick it up after work.

I guess it depends on what kind of driving you're doing, but after my 40 minute ride to work or home on the highway, my ETS pretty darn cold. Of course if I let it sit there for a while without moving, it starts to warm up, but immediately after I stop, the IC is cold to the touch, along with the cold pipe. I can even touch the intake manifold, which is luke warm. I think if it were anything but cool/cold after 40 minutes of 75mph, 35-40 degree air hitting it, I'd have to wonder.

Uhateit, whatever happened with your TMIC, did you figure out what was going on with it?

it appears to be fine right now. I havent tried to touch it after a long drive. I will do it again tomorrow on my way to work. It was just weird how hot the ******* thing was and it was making the entire engine bay all hot whereas it was nice n cool before. Could have been a combination of weather at the time because i tried it a few days later and it was pretty warm, but not burning hot like it was before. I thought i had a blockage or something in it so i was worried to death that it was clogged up somehow
