Hey I just put this system together.

Me and a co-worker at work just put it in( I work at Circuit city in the roadshop)

I have three Audiobahn AW1051T 10"s in a huge box (I know I hate it)
I also have Infinity's reference 6x8/5x7 and 6 1/2 components in my door, which I had to reluctantly put a hole in my door for
I have the Audiobahn A8000T pushing my subs at almost 1.5 ohms and I have the Audiobhan A4000T running the interior speakers.
And last I have a Alpine CDA9827

tell me what you think..............

Not a fan of Audiobahn or Infinity at all, but interesting work on the doors. That's a lot like what I did for mine. Why did you use that Alpine HU, though? I would have gone with at least the 9811 or 9813 or 9815. I'm more of a fan of the brushed metal look than the chrome as well...how's the box look?

how many cubes do your speakers require and how many cubes is that box? i have two power hx2 and they need .625 cubes sealed and they are mean ass subs , your box just looks way too big to me, but then maybe you subs needed it

I choose the alpine HU that I got b/c it's something I can use for now that has a MP3 player, because I want I really want is the Alpine CDA 9831 that just came out, but circuit city hasn't gotten yet,

and that is a big ass box, it's like having a fat chick on your back, I am currently having MUch smaller box made.

the woofers are getting about 250 each

how do those speakers sound in that box? i can see them not performing too well due to all the extra air in there, but then again i could be wrong and those speakers may need a ton of air, but damn thats a lot of cubes. i know for the two power hx2s i am running i need 12hx25lx8.5w interior dimensions to get exactly 1.25 cubes after the speaker displacement and like i said my speakers are monsters compared to yours. ive been interested in your subs, the brand not that sub, for a while are you happy with them? cheesie

very Happy so far!! thank god!! they hit hard and sound deep, I also figured that the extra air would kill the sound, but thats not the story. I have to say that I am very happy.

hey what up magnum... i see your taking advantage of the accomodations at ccity. did you purchase esp with that?

pretty nice install. that's a pretty big box. is that shared chamber or are there dividers? damn... everything is from ccity... you got the power pumper in there too i see.

i work at ccity too. store 406 i'm a RsPS.

for the front doors, could you replace the tweeters up in the corner with those of the components so you wouldnt have to cut holes? do you use those stock tweeters now so you have 4 in the front?

extra air means that the power handling is decreased, but generally the SPL can be increased (the subs don't have as much air pressure to work against). Getting too big can sometimes decrease the SPL, though...but it does make the response curve flatter and offers extra damping (more control for the subs). There are drawbacks and such, but nothing too horrid if it's all done right.

no point in having the stock tweeters in there with aftermarket components...they're only wired in parallel...the stock setup aren't actually components, just try to feel people into thinking they are. Also, you can't fit bigger than 3/4" tweeters in the stock spot without a bunch of tweaking...they also sound better closer to the woofer.

so they just sit there then?
hehe..No :D

...they actually work, but they don't act as a true component set. No crossover...you have the stock midrange playing a full signal and the stock tweeter playing as much of the full signal as it can (i believe they put something on the signal path to create a natural high-pass)

oh cool, so if i get a component set then id still be makin use of my stock tweeters...

hmmm... that means there'll have to be holes in my doors.

nonono :)
you can do several things:

1) disconnect stock tweeters and remove like I did
2) you can replace them with 3/4" tweets if your set uses them
3) you can mount the tweeters in an angled pod in the stock location (if you know what you're doing...like I hope I do! I'm making some spacers for Matthew that will allow for this)
4) you can get custom kick panels made
5) you can put a hole in the door like I did

hmmm.... i think ill just buy the components and take it to a car audio place...

did u use a jigsaw? :D

hmm... id like to do it myself but im afraid ill screw it up like i did my sub.

ill give it a shot by myself and see what happens. thx :)

hey AFaceInTheCrowd, yeah I did take advantage of our accomadations at ccity and yeah I got the ESP on it too, just because I know I will trade everything back in, I want to get the MTX Thunder1501D and MTX 8000 10 speakers and another Cap with it too, and I'll probably pick up the KAPPA infinity speaker sthat we have on our accomadations website .I am alrready getting ready to trade in my HU for either the new Alpine CDA9831 (which is the old 9813). or the Pio Dehp8500mp.

as far as the box it is divided.

Holla at cha boy
