hey guys i have a mx3 and im doing it up for track use but the problem is i cant find a performance manifold for my 1.5 dohc
im wondering would a mx-5 one fit? its my last resort before i crack and get a custom 4,2,1 made

The US MX3's that were supplied with the B6 (1.6L) engine shared the same block as the Miata.

You'll need to use the MX3 manifolds, as well as the FWD B6 oil pan, engine mounts, and reconfigured the cooling housings (front and rear) to work with the MX3. The engine will bolt right in with the proper OEM mounts.

Out of curiosity, your MX3, does it emply a Z5 or B5 series engine? Could you provide pictures?

Kevin, he's asking about just the exhaust manifold/header. not the entire engine swap...

I think you need this picture.

Man I need to get that ugly thing out of my engine bay! lol

no, 2 and 3 are shorter. And tho it 'looks' prettyer than most manifolds, from what I'm told there's a good bit of welding excess on the inside of all those welds.

THIS is a header *drooool*

I took a look in there and it wasn't bad at all. Better than most aftermarker headers. 2 and 3 are shorter. It looks totally manufactured what with all the bends. Then each tube comes together and is bent to make 1/4 of the unit circle and they are welded together at the edges. Not a cast iron monstrosity though

and yes that was go faster all urpose gaffer tape on the induction hose and yes i have it fixed now!

The engine in the pic you posted is a 1.8L (BP). The valve cover, fuel rail (3 bolts), distributor, intake manifold, etc are indictive of that.

Check listings for 1.8L 91-96 Ford Escort GT's and 90-94 Protege LX's as there are several tubular headers available that you can use (like Kansei suggested).
