Mute / Attenuator Lead - How to use?

Hey, I just installed a deck for a friend of mine, it has an attenuator lead.

It's supposed to work in conjunction with a cellphone? How does one go about using this lead? Thanks a bunch!

yes, but there has to be a purpose for it, in the past few days i've found some things about cell phone harnesses which may work in conjunction, as well as a relay with a frequency switch?

no idea, if anyone has any clue what this was designed for, please let me know!

most "in car cell phone kits" have a wire that you can hook up to that mute wire..so, when the phone rings it will ground that wire and mute the radio so you can hear the phone.
