music bluetooth no more shuffle option

Hi

Hi I know my car does not recognize shuffle on my iphone 4s, so I lived with is for a year now, but when Ios updated to 7.1.2 I now have the shuffle option and was very happy about it, had it operationg for ateast 1 week I guess, but when going home after work, upon starting my vehicle, I noticed my bluetooth just frozed on me, radio was working except the bluetooth, I think It forze for 5mins, I rebooted both my car and phone, and connection was a succes, but the shuffle thing was no more again =( , any info about this, am not bitchin about, but just want to know what happened tho?

When you say "...when Ios updated to 7.1.2 I now have the shuffle option..." do you mean that while you were connected via bluetooth the shuffle button was no longer greyed out and actually worked? The non-functional BT shuffle button has been one of my pet peeves, as I have to use the voice commands to shuffle and it never works on the first try. I'll have to update my iphone 5S to 7.1.2 this evening and see if it makes my shuffle button functional. Keeping fingers crossed.

yep before the update it won't work, every time i press the shuffle it just turns off immediately on me, but yeah since I updated the phone to 7.1.2 it workerd for atleast a week and then the system lagged/froze, and poof it was gone again =(

I updated my 5S to 7.1.2 last night but for me there was no noticeable change to the functionality (or lack thereof) of streaming music via Bluetooth; the shuffle button was still greyed out, music played in alphabetical song title order. :sigh:

Bumping this thread. I just got a 2015 CX5 and I'm having the same issues on my iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2. The shuffle button doesn't work when I stream music via bluetooth. Has anyone found a solution for this?

EDIT:

I found a fix on the Apple support forum.

Press voice command button-> Speak "Shuffle" or "Shuffle All".

I just tested this and it works. You can also turn the shuffle on and off through the iPhone. However, this has to be done every time you start the car. It's a pain, but at least the shuffle function is usable again.
