A man convicted of a brutal murder on P.E.I. escaped today from the Dorchester minimum-security prison.
Westmorland Institution spokesperson Maurice Leblanc says they noticed 39-year-old Gary Gormley was missing around noon time after a count of prisoners came up with one short.
Gormley was serving a life sentence for a murder in the Charlottetown area.
Leblanc wouldn't say whether Gormley is considered to be dangerous but he said the escape is a concern.
