Muffler Question and, Good Exhaust/Muffler Shop on Long Island?

Is there anyone that can reccomend a quality Exhaust/Muffler shop on Long Island? I have a good guy in Deer Park but he keeps pushing me to FlowMaster or Magnaflow as he's more of a mustang/camaro guy than an import guy. My problem is this, I have a 3" perf. catted mid-pipe going back to a Tsubo straight through muffler. I have 2 problems with this set-up 1. The exhaust is way too loud without the silencer in, and the silencer makes the exhaust sound like crap as well as rob significant power. 2. The muffler scrapes everytime I pull out of somewhere as I have 2" drop on the car and it is installed poorly right now with the cannister facing down and sticking out of the bumper too far (needless to say I didn't go to my exhaust guy for that install). I am really looking at the ApexI WS2 Universal as I've heard that it's quiet and I wouldn't need a resonator on it, but also i've heard that the cannister is a bit large so I'm worried I might scrape just as much. Anyone with ideas/opinions please let me know

I am also interested, im not big on noise. Apexi says that they average somewere in the 80DB range, the question is were do the other ones rnage , like the injen of the magnaflow... I live in Vermont so i can drive down if i can fid a good deal (even if it cost a lot of gas) I just cant stand roudy noises and scrapes on every bump.

I don't plan on getting an exhaust because I like the way the stock one sounds. If I did replace it, I wouldn't want one that is much louder that the stock. Anybody with an aftermarket exhaust that is not much louder than the stock one?
