Muffler for 3" custom exhaust

moroso spiralflow 3 in 3 out. my exhaust was 4 foot total length with just that welded inline and dumped under the ebrake.

sounded like one mean son of a b****. made my buddy in his evo want to order an exhaust for his car after he heard mine. hehe.

5zigen fireball, 3" inlet. run a search for "aftermarket exhausts" and you'll find a thread with mine and a bunch of other exhaust recordings.

i'm definitely not looking for sound but something with a high rate of flow and a 3" inlet and no exhaust tip...i can choose one that will be not be showy...i may even paint it black

one question i now have is...are cannister style mufflers more efficient in moving air through them than the normal oval style?

you gotta look at the internals of the muffler. to me, it seems logical that a straight through design will flow the most. i could be wrong though. how about a magnaflow one since you wanna put your own exhaust tip on it?

What brand?
Bullet is the brand. It looks just like any "standard" muffler, but it's polished and has no tips, just a 3" inlet and outlet and is straight through. I'll get a pic tomorrow.

i'm looking into using a magnaflow oval muffler with a bit of pipe so the exhaust exits infront of the rear wheel. what are everyone's thoughts on using aluminized steel rather than SS for an exhaust? will rust be an issue?

i just answered this other guy about exhaust, but yeah i noticed that the N/A exhaust wear out real fast, especially the way mazda owners are known to drive their cars. that's why the second time around i decided to just get a turbo application exhaust even if i'm still N/A. that way it'll last longer. doesn't matter what brand you buy just get one that's turbo app. universal app.

mx3 - if you spend a lot of time up in MD, you might wanna consider using ss. i believe maryland is in the rust belt or very close to it.

i found the usualy run of the mill exhausts (i'm not a showy person and want to keep the sleeper look so i'd wind up painting it flat black)...but this is cool...only 5lbs with carbon fiber and titanium

one word: Budget. lol

i'm not too worried about it. i won't be driving on azenis in the snow so i won't have to worry about road salt. its no more humid here than in houston either. if the exhaust lasts 3 years i'll be impressed.
