Thanks for the pics. Not very noticable at all.
Does it help in the winter to keep the slush and all that crap off the doors?

So far its keeping alot of the salt from the mtns off my doors, as well as the black grime after the past bit of rain this weekend as well. I took them off the other day and my car looked naked.

autozone had them for 15 bucks. I think it was the type 1 or A on the packaging.

Sorry for the beginner's question...how are these mounted? I see the screws, what type are they and do they go into sheet metal or what? I assume you took the wheels off to do this.

Probably only into the plastic of the side-sills. Obviously taper-headed, self-tapping screws. I might've used pan-heads instead. And you should be able to do this mod by just cranking the wheels to one side or the other.

Cranking the wheels works for the fronts, but you would have to take off the rears to do it.

Wetsuit: Those are generics?! What brand? They really do fit well. I think you found my first mod. One more week...

Right, Chief! I'll make a note of that. (lol)

Look up, Q. /\
AutoZone. Universal type 1 or A (he couldn't remember.) $15+/-.

Alright I went into autozone to get the info. Felt bad leavin ppl hanging ha.

They are "power flow pro fit splash guards" Its a red\white\silver box and it has a large one on the top left corner. There are 3 types and just from eyeballing it the 1 was the one that would fit the best. I trimmed the moulding on the side that sits on the side sill. The little bit of rubber caught debris and will scratch the sh*t out of your paint, so cut it off.

I just used some bolts, regular flat tipped bolts that had a tapered head and fit into the plastic retaining clip I guess you could call it.

The clip im talking about has wings that expand when you screw the plastic screw into, much like what holds the plastic wheel well covers in place.

There is absolutely no drilling into the side sills or anything, it just goes into a factory hole that is totally reversable, if you dont lose the plastic screw that goes in there from the factory.

You just have to line everything up and drill holes into the splash guards. I left my wheels on and just turned them to the side, plenty of room to work.

Rich, I will try to be more observant, and actually retain what I see in the future. I will also try to refrain from stating the obvious, so as to not be the target of your blatant and totally deserved sarcasm. For more food for your demented sense of humor, please see below and feel free to do your worst.(enguard)

Back on topic: If the the original screws/bolts you are going to replace to mount the guards protrude even just a little, you can line your guards up with the screws/bolts in place and then give a them a little whack with a rubber or plastic mallet. The heads will make a nice little indentation in the guards to mark where you want to drill.

That's probably not news to most of you, but if I helped one person, I have done my good deed for the day.

Wetsuit: I see only pics for the fronts. Did you put any on the rear, or do you think they aren't necessary? Thanks for the specifics on guards. I hope you didn't make a special trip.

I checked my local canadiantire store here, and they want $39.99cdn for the Power Flow Pro Fit Splash Guards.

I called autozone and they are asking $14.99 plus $24US shipping. In the end it will be the same as paying 39.99cdn here.

The Pro Fits are the softer rubber ones right??

You're absolutely correct about my demented (and sarcastic (lol) ) sense of humor, but I was just messin' witch ya', Jack. I don't USUALLY take this stuff too seriously.

Realizing that you are not as familiar (hands on... and no, that's not a put down) w/the 3 as most of us are, and so as my "demented sense of humor" doesn't bite you again, that's a nice idea. I've used it myself in past times, but nearly everything in that area of the car is plastic except the rolled lip of the fender itself (not too strong) and probably wouldn't stand that kind of abuse w/o damage. The plastic sill extensions will help deflect stones and the like, but I would be afraid of it breaking under that kind of direct stress. Even a tap could crack it, IMHO.
A better idea might be to removed the Fisher-Price hardware (someone on here called them that and I thought it was hillarious) from the sill-ext and do a rub tracing to create a template. Then, drill the holes in the guard. And I might like to run a bead of clear silicone between the guard and the sill to protect it from rubbing.
Now, that wasn't too painful, was it Jack? (rlaugh)

I don't think he did and there's even less to attach something to back there unless some sort of support could be fabricated. As it is, the wind would probably catch them and they'd flop around stupidly. (Is that a word?)
The front is most definitely the most important, but rear guards would help to keep that lower rear part of the bumper cleaner. Ask me! I have a WHITE car. :)

bbrich57 "clear silicone between the guard and the sill to protect it from rubbing."

Good Idea.

Thanks! I'm full of i.... I mean, good ideas, it's just that nobody listens. (rlaugh)

bbrich57, its kinda off topic, but I noticed your blue headlight covers. They are M3 plastic right? Was it a pain to install them? I just installed mine (clear) and oh man, what a disaster, they fit perfect, BUT the curve on the headlight made it difficult, heat gun wouldnt work, and I had to cut them to get the huge bubble out...Plus i slipped the knife and cut one in a zigzag (%*&%^#$) (pissed)
Now it is hazzy and hast wierd tiny bubbles in it after I had the lights turned on for a while.

Thinking of taking them off again if it doesnt clear...

Any tips, IF I ever decide to apply them again.

No worries Rich. Interesting you should use the term "Fisher-Price" I remember in the late seventies or early eighties my had a couple of different Chevrolets. I always remember chuckling when I opened the door and saw on the rocker panel a rendition of a carriage, and the words "Body by Fisher." I always associated that with Fisher-Price, and thought it was rather funny.

'Will PM you w/the trials and tribulations of installing RockBlockers ASAP.

Mud flaps

Found the Power Flow Mud flaps at Canadian tire. 14.99 per set.
You will need the number 1 for the front and number 2 for the rear. Did a little trimming of the flap to make it pretty and used the heat gun too. I am happy with how they look, almot factory like. I know this post is useless with out pictures, maybe some day I'll figure it out.

Upnover, what did you use the headgun for?

If you have a digital camera, take a pic, upload it to your computer and just simply click on "insert image" and browse for it, done!
