Mud Flap or Splash Guard for 3.2s

So I just got my M3 hatchback. I practically got everything I could. The only thing that it lacks are mud flaps. I called to order them today and I found out they only have them for the 3.2i !!

Are you kidding me! They told me that it was because of the door molding the mud flaps do not fit. I asked if they planned to have it for the 2005 year and said said it doesn't look like it!?!?!?

Is anyone else fustrated that they are going to have mud and crap all over their lower door? or is it just me?

Anyone buy some generic ones? Alter the 3.2i flaps?

Thanks in advance.

(You mean Mazda3s and Mazda3i, which have 2.3L and 2.0L engines respectively, right? :))

I have a GT w/ GFX (Canadian-spec, roughly equivalent to the US-spec S model). I picked up some of the flaps for the front wheels (pictured in this thread on another forum, near the end http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=2803), but not in time for my camping trip. I spent a few hours on ROCK roads (gravel would have been a blessing) and the front-facing part of the sideskirts near the back has chipped paint all over it.

Bleh.

That thread is very helpful. Thanks for the tip I am not sure how I feel about "jimmy riggin" my own. Hopefully Mazda gets their head out of their ass and gets some factory flaps out for 2005. If the weather starts gettin really crappy...I'll consider getting these.
