MSP6 Stock Bose Hard disk player and iPod?

A quick question...

I have an '07 MPS/MSP6 fitted with the stock bose system, only instead of the cd changer I thought it would have, its got a single disc player, plus an integrated hard disk player. The HDD can record your cd's as you play them, and is a very worthwhile addition, but I already have about 100GB's of music ripped to MP3 available on my iPod. Can I fit the Mazda iPod interface and retain the Bose HDD player as well?

Here's a link to a picture from the owners manual;

Good question. Is that the mazda HDD that you can order through them. I'm not sure to many people in the states have it since it was such an expensive option from what I hear. Hopefully somebody can help you with your situation.

It certainly looks like its a mazda item. It integrates perfectly into the existing Bose console where other cars have a tape or minidisc player (or just a blank plate), and comes with little remote control with the mazda logo embossed on the back. On all the spec sheets I've read for UK cars, it's supposed to have a six disc cd changer fitted, but on mine, and a handful of other really late cars on autotrader, I have an HDD player instead. Odd, since the only option ever listed in the UK was the sat nav system, and the previous owner says it was in the car when he bought it.

Nice, sounds like a good option. I don't think to many people in the states have it. If it uses the same port as the 6 disc changer, I'm not sure which one the Ipod uses, but if it uses the same one then I wouldn't think you could use both. But if they use different ports then they could be used together.

I thought it was available here. I remember it being posted a while back, but nobody went for it since it was so expensive it was kinda pointless.

First I've heard of this option. Sounds pretty cool though...and I'm sure the dealership charged an arm an and a leg for it.
